Amazing time with Hans’ cooking class! Great way to learn about the local traditions of cooking, with going from the market to preparing the different delicious dishes at his home. The rice wine also was a great add-up. Would definitely recommend!

I will echo many of the same comments on here. Hans provides a wonderful class, but more importantly, shows you a hyper local view into Yangshuo that you can’t get otherwise. He also treats you like family and is a very kind, fun loving guy. Book this experience!

This class with Hans, supported by his brother Roger, was one of the highlights of my month-long trip to China. It started off with a visit to the market, including a typical breakfast of the region (so delicious!). We moved to the kitchen, right next to a karst formation, and Hans showed me how to use traditional cooking methods that are essential to creating a good meal. And of course, when all was done we sat down to a great meal. It felt like Hans and Roger and I were friends have a well-earned meal together. Hans knows everything about local food and was able to answer any sort of question with attention and care. This class is a great way to learn about Yangshuo Chinese cooking, food, and culture. If you have the time do add this to your itinerary. It will make the rest of your trip even richer.

This meal with Hans was truly exceptional! More than just a cooking experience, it was a good moment of sharing, knowledge and values. We started by going to the local market together, where he taught me how to choose quality ingredients and spot good vendors, explaining his tips with real passion The cooking class lasts around 3 hours, and Hans speaks excellent English, making every step easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend it without hesitation!!

I ended up being the only person booked into my class but Chef Hans invited me to have dinner with his family after the lesson! The lesson was perfect, a market shopping trip and then we cooked four delicious dishes. Hans’ family were lovely and made the class and the evening my highlight of Yangshuo! I just couldn’t keep up with the rate they drink happy water!

We started with a tour in the food market which was very interesting and authentic. Hans then thought us to cook multiple Chinese dishes. He is a really kind and free-spirited soul. We recommend !

Great cooking class with market visit with Hans! He was super friendly and explained everything really well! He also welcomed me into his home for dinner with his family which was an amazing and unique experience!

Had a very nice day with Hans and his daughter. First a market visit where we could taste the local Mood and products. Then cooking workshop at Hans' house. Nice environment in the house of Hans. Highly recommended!
