The Winery and Cellar Door, which are nestled in to the base of the Christmas Hills, have unparalleled views of the Estate vineyard and Great Dividing ranges. It is here that winemaking operations are carried out, making Greenstone one of the most progressive wineries in the valley.

3.00The Yarra Valley is absolutely beautiful the time of year we visited, in April. Our driver was competent and friendly, but I’d agree with other reviews that the experience on the whole lacked depth and sincere interest in the customers. The woman at Balgownie who served us the wines was lovely and knowledgeable, as was the woman at Yering Farm. Torak…no attention paid to us as a group, loud, disinterested staff. I’d dig a bit deeper for an experience that truly caters to the interests of the group. Last year our tour of the Barossa Valley was spectacular; this one could do with some improvement.

4.00We visited 4 wineries with a decent variety of different wines from the region. Our driver/guide, Andy, was pleasant and efficient throughout the day. We particularly enjoyed the last stop where we had a private room with seating for everyone, as opposed to the other venues where we were all standing around in a big group.

3.00While the wineries selection was good, it felt extremely rushed and as though we had no time to do anything apart from the tastings themselves. Our tour guide kept rushing us back onto the bus, as we barely even had time to go to the bathroom after each tasting before being told we needed to be back on the bus. The timing could have been better planned, especially to allow us to have a little extra time at each winery. Our tour guide had even said that we could leave a little later, but that meant he would be stuck in traffic. I didn't appreciate that we weren't given much of a choice in the matter, as it seemed all guests were eager to have a little more time at each winery.
