The guide was knowledgeable and worked well with the driver. The tour was altered based on the prevailing weather conditions. We saw the Northern Lights, and the guide photographed us as promised. We were given ample time to view the aurora and take photographs. The snack was meh--just a single tiny cookie of indeterminant flavor. But the Tim Horton's cocoa was very tasty. The bathroom break was at a clean, well-lit location.

We had a wonderful night. The weather was clear and there was plenty of activity in the sky to be seen. Luke was a wonderful tour guide who knew the area well. He was able to drive us to lookout points which optimised our view of the Aurora Borealis. He took wonderful photos for us and happy to answer all our questions. Overall we were totally satisfied with this tour.

I visited during Korea’s holidays, so all the Korean tour companies were already fully booked 😭 And to be honest, they were way more expensive too. Since I’m a super P-type solo female traveler, I didn’t feel like searching around too much, and I also wanted to keep things simple in case anything unexpected happened. So I just booked three nights in a row with this company. All the other guests during my trip were Korean too, probably because of the holiday. Night 1: I got lucky — not too many clouds, and the aurora was insanely bright! Even saw a dancing aurora!! 🥹✨ It was freezing cold even in early October, but after about two hours, The guide served hot chocolate and cookies, which warmed us up a bit. He also took amazing photos — seriously, they came out so well — and we received them on the same day. The only hard part was that the tour kept moving between different spots to find the best view. It made sense later when I saw the photos, but at the time I was exhausted, freezing, and low-key wanted to give up by the end 😂 I actually tried to cancel the remaining two nights afterward because I wanted to book an indoor, cozy viewing option for the rest of the trip. But honestly, I really liked the guide — he was incredibly kind, so nice, and you could tell he genuinely worked hard for everyone. So I ended up just sticking with the same tour. Which turned out to be the right call. Night 2: Clear skies but the aurora index absolutely tanked — 0.29 😵‍💫 Of course, that’s nature’s call, not the company’s fault. What really impressed me though was how hard the guide tried. He was constantly checking the aurora map and driving us to areas where there was some chance to see it. We didn’t catch anything in the end, but he genuinely gave it his all. Some of the older guests seemed a bit tired and struggled with the English explanations, so keep that in mind if you're bringing parents — this tour involves quite a bit of moving around and can get tiring. If your parents prefer slower, more comfortable travel, I’d recommend booking one of those lodge-based viewing experiences instead. Night 3 (the grand finale): This was the night that made everything worth it. The aurora index was good, but it was a full moon and there were thick clouds. I thought, “Welp, guess I’m not seeing anything tonight either.” But the guide kept monitoring the weather and aurora maps, then decided to drive north where the clouds were thinner. It took almost an hour to get there, but omg — we saw a big, bright aurora. Not dancing, but still magical. He explained that people who stayed near Yellowknife that night probably didn’t see anything because of the cloud cover. And sure enough, on my way to the airport, some Korean travelers told me they had waited for hours but saw nothing. They were super jealous when I showed them my photos 🥲 Since the actual aurora can be totally different from the forecast, the “cozy indoor” style can make you miss it. That’s why I’d recommend this more active style — it’s only three days of a little effort, totally worth it! If I ever visit Yellowknife again, I’d book with this company again without a second thought. Highly, highly recommend. People like them deserve to work less and earn more!

This was truly a special tour experience. I really appreciated Luke’s excellent photography skills, as well as his choice of private and unique hunting spots. During the tour, Luke showed such positive energy and genuine care for the guests. He even prepared warm tea and cookies for us, and kindly helped with requests that could have been inconvenient. I was also impressed that he not only focused on the aurora tour but also made efforts to make our time in Yellowknife more enjoyable. He even helped us call a taxi!
