What To Expect

Zmijanje embroidery has been on the UNESCO list of world intangible cultural heritage since 2014, as the first intangible cultural asset from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Many television shows, articles in print and electronic media in Bosnia and Herzegovina have promoted and are promoting Duga´s handicrafts and other activities, with a special emphasis on Zmijanje Embroidery since 2014. The workshop lasts 1 hour and stay in Duga 1 ½ hours. Before the start of the workshop, with coffee and cakes, the participants of the workshop can hear a short story about the Zmijanje Embroidery, its history, ornamentation, color, material being worked on, and making techniques.
