Borobudur Temple
Visit the world's largest Buddhist legacy of Borobudur Temple. Encounter 504 life-sized Buddha statues, each carved from a single stone. Discover seated Buddha statues beneath each bell-shaped spire. Admire its grandeur, beauty and uniqueness. Complete your journey by visiting the nearby Mendut and Pawon Temples (optional). These are positioned along a straight line with Borobudur for an unknown ritual process. Explore the wonder of the ancient world today!
Prambanan Temples
Set out for Prambanan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built between the 8th and 10th centuries, this mighty temple complex celebrates both Hindu and Buddhist beliefs, and the scale is so impressive. It was dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Preserver (Vishnu), and the Destroyer (Shiva). The largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia and one of the largest ones in Southeast Asia.

A full day, 10 hours sightseeing Borobudur and Prambanan Temples. Our Guide was Ardhan and he was fabulous. We had an infant with us and Ardhan took extra care of the stroller (which wasn’t allowed up the temple steps). Ardhan ensured we had water and shade when needed. Highly recommend Jogja Borobudur Tour and Travel.

Driver Sam arrived well ahead of time for the hotel pickup and we went straight to the temple of Borobudur, in an hour’s drive. Getting there, even with the parking spaces being away, waiting 20min until it showed up was not pleasant. Once the ticket was paid, there were problems to pass the catraca, because the reader did not recognize the bar code. The manager had to come to free the entrance, that is, more lost time. The tour itself inside the complex, with the excellent local guide Mura, was fantastic. At the exit the same situation, not knowing where to be the driver and having to wait for him to appear from nowhere was not pleasant. We followed for an hour and a half until Prambanan, where the question of waiting was repeated. Between each action, Sam stopped to smoke; when the local guide arrived, they both stopped to smoke and talk before the tour could continue! The Sidou guide is excellent, speaks several languages and has complete mastery of the history and the meanings hidden in the place! The return to Yogyakarta took half an hour, all without a stop for lunch. We could have won an hour without unnecessary waiting. Plus, it was a great walk.

The excursion started at 9 am on time with the hotel pickup. After 1 hour we were in Borobodur. The driver unloaded us at the entrance and looked for a parking space. It took 15 minutes for him to come back because the parking lot was very far away. Then he got the ticket. Unfortunately, the barcode did not work properly, so we had to wait until the problem was fixed. Then we continued with big buggies, there you got lugs, water and a bag for the shoes, as well as a number. We waited about 20 minutes until we could be assigned to our guide and our group (about 20 people) via this number. Then the tour started with helpful explanations. Level by level we climbed, on each section there were important hints from the guide. Once back downstairs, he said goodbye. We then ran very far back to the buggies and were back at the entrance after 2 hours. We were able to get the driver to pick up with WhatsApp. An hour and a half later we went to Prambanan. We skipped lunch and wanted to arrive in front of the groups of Borobodur to avoid the crowds. There the ticket was also obtained by the driver and finally waited for the local guide. That took some time and when he finally arrived, he smoked one with the driver. Then the other groups came, which is why I had to warn to leave. The temple is very nice to visit the individual buildings from the inside, but here it is naturally jammed. The guide had a lot of knowledge, but our absorption capacity for stories from Hindu mythology was soon exhausted, so we finished the tour after 45 minutes. The way back to the parking lot led in an arch around the shelf and finally through a market with a lot of nap. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Conclusion: You have to be prepared for waiting times even on a private tour. The driver drove safely and quickly. Sometimes he might have been able to say more clearly where he was going and for how long. The smoke break with the local guide I found inappropriate. Even with the journey times it is not strenuous, but still worthwhile.

Our driver Yuni took us to the temples Borobudur and Prambanan. He knew a lot about the temples and about Indonesia and also showed us several Indonesian fruits along the way. During lunch he deliberately brought us to a restaurant with only locals with delicious food and the pisang goreng, their specialty.

Great tour! Our driver, Ardhan was very nice and a really good driver - he made sure everything was organised. The tours at each temple were great but we definitely enjoyed the one at Prambanan more just because there were less people. If you're in Yogyakarta and want to see both temples without the hassle of organising everything yourself (Borobudur temple can be a bit overwhelming to organise once there) I would totally recommend this tour as you also get to go on the Borobudur temple (only 150 people every hour can go to the top and you can only go with a guide).

Had a great day with our guide. Knew a lot and was very enthusiastic. Also gave us the space to walk around together occasionally. All in all a top day and a big 10/10

The trip was excellent and far exceeded our expectations. Our guide Haidar was particularly good, he was very knowledgable and went out of his way to make sure that everything went smoothly. The temples are stunning and this is the best way to visit them as absolutely everything is included in the price and sorted for you.

Was a good eight hour full day, prompt pick up at 7am by Haidar, who is an excellent guide, driver and host. We visited another temple as traffic was light, before arriving at Borobudur. Once there you have to join an organised group to visit the temple. Excellent mountain and volcano views from the temple, and you do have some free time to explore alone. Once we had found our way out of the gift shop/exit maze, Haidar drove us to a local store to replenish snacks and drinks and then we drove over to Prambanan complex, stopping for a good lunch on the way. This is a more relaxing historical park to visit with two large sites, one Hindu and one Buddhist, and Haidar and led me on foot around the temples and brought me to the best photo locations, as well as sharing his historical knowledge in good English. It was a long but great day, with an excellent guide Haidar, and I recommend.
