Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the dungeon today. As a middle aged couple I thought it might not suit us but how wrong was I! The whole experience was really fun and engaging. The team at the dungeon are excellent and work extremely hard to ensure that the “peasants” have an unforgettable experience. Well done to all. Well worth the money and our favourite experience in the city thus far.

Brilliant actors, brilliant execution (no pun) of roles. Special effects and script well thought out. Well worth it, enjoyed every second. If you visit play along and enjoy!

Superb experience. We had been to the dungeons at Warwick Castle that was also excellent but I think this was even better. I would recommend to anyone except possible young children who my be a little scared.

Little Peasants Walking Tour This Halloween we decided to try the Little Peasants Walking Tour. We choose the Thursday morning 11.30am slot and gathered outside the Dungeons to be met by Jester and Smedley. Smallish group of around 20 people which was perfect as we could hear everything that was said and the banter of both Jester and Smedley was excellent, my youngest Daughter Emily was extremely impressed with Smedley and his humour. The tour lasted the full hour and took us on a interesting route around York with loads of gruesome but funny tales. Definitely recommend for all ages and families and not often that our family of a 7 & 14 yr old plus two oldies (parents) all enjoyed one thing at the same time! Great work by all esp Smeadley!!!!!!

We had a ghoulishly great time in the Dungeons! Tiny bit of constructive feedback - maybe have the minions at the front who take the souvenir photos trained to ask us peasants to remove really obvious items of green-coloured outer clothing. I was super looking forward to purchasing our souvenir photos at the end, but unbeknownst to me my daughters green hat meant that half of her head was abruptly chopped off (not in a gruesome dungeon-y way unfortunately) on all the pics due to the green screen sorcery used to produce the background! That was really disappointing, but overall we had a great time - thanks!

Myself and husband visited at the end of October, we did have to queue a little past our entry time as you are admitted in small groups. I wasn't sure what to expect but we both really enjoyed it. The actors were fab, the props and sets were excellent. Would highly recommend (but definitely not for young children!)

We joined the Little Peasants tour on Halloween. Family came up from London and we wanted to show them a scary time in York. The tour was brilliant well put together and informative. The kids learnt some great facts from the stories and tales and had great fun. We then went into the Dungeon where they were truly horrified (in a good way). A fantastic day spent. The kids woke up and wanted to do it again, but unfortunately it was already booked up. Thank you to the actors and staff. Highly recommend!

I cannot even begin to say what an utter waste of money this is. It’s not a dungeon. There is nothing educational or informative. You are herded into crowded spaces to watch actors recite utter rubbish. Couldn’t hear half of it. Uncomfortable. Claustrophobic. Nothing of historic value. Save your money - it’s a complete waste of time. Couldn’t get out quick enough. Just an excuse to take your money and deliver nothing of worth.
