Fantastic experience. I am a bit of a fraidy cat so after talking to the lovely guy at the ticket box, with some reassurance, I bought the tickets and went in. I’m so glad I did. The actors were fantastic! The plague doctors assistant especially. How they keep eye contact while saying the creepiest things into someone’s face and not laughing I’ll never know. ‘I like pulling out the bitsssssss’ has now become a catchphrase in our home. I did get thrown into a cage at one point and hubby failed at protecting the mace but it was all in good fun. I am really a scaredy cat but it wasn’t too bad. I survived! Only just!! Loved it

This was a fab experience, it was scary for me cos im a softie, The actors are worth their weight in gold, id be surprised if i dont see any of them on TV soon, so so good in character, if you are in York please visit here, its a fab experience, A little tip is if you do not want to be singled out request a yellow sticker when you go in..

To be honest I was initially reluctant to go to this attraction as I thought it might be a bit childish and tacky. I was wrong! It was a brilliant 75 minutes full of humour, history and jump scares. I asked for a sticker to opt out of being selected audience participation but those who were up for it seemed to enjoy the experience! I won't give anything away but I genuinely screamed on two occasions which was quite a surprise to me as I like to think I'm pretty immune to being scared. The group size was perfect and the actors were thoroughly outstanding. I really would recommend it as a must see if you're visiting York!

Fantastic experience, great fun, highly recommended to anyone visiting York, and the photographs are not too expensive.

Definitely not for children 14 some of the attractions were quite funny but some are definitely not for some children as they showed some disturbing things like blood body parts and organs , heads on spikes,as well as lots of jump scares that could frighten some children. Also I know it's apart of the tour but they shouldn't scream at the children only if they feel comfortable ,but I as when I visited they did scream at a child which I thought could maybe damage their hearing as there a child . Overall if was a alright experience I didn't really enjoy it but that's my opinion,it looks like most people enjoy it .

First time in a dungeon, wasn't really sure what to expect. It was out of the comfort zone booking, but we truly enjoyed. The performances and entertainment was absolutely amazing, kids aging from 7-14 got really engaged. The show wasn't only entertaining, it was informative too, we learn few new facts on local history. Great performances, if you enjoy good sense of humour and don't take offence easily, would really recommend..

Absolutely fantastic experience! Without doubt the highlight of our trip to York. My husband and I went with our 14 year old. We all loved every single minute. Full of surprises, jump scares and special effects throughout. I really want to go again already! I am not sure if younger children would be suited to this attraction, I guess it depends on the individual. I personally don’t think I would recommend it to anyone with a child under 10-12 years old but like I said, it’s a personal choice. All in all, AMAZING! Thank you!

Absolutely amazing experience. I was expecting a jump scare haunted house type thing because, as a simple peasant, i didn’t read the clear explanation of the attraction🤣🤣🤣 It is way more than this. It is such an immersive experience. Joining in with everything is part of the fun. Throw yourselves into everything to get the most out of it. There are quite a few spooky moments. It is also educational and very funny and the actors really can act. They stay in character throughout. The journey around the attraction takes about 75 minutes, there are toilets down the side of the street and there are adaptations for people with mobility issues. I’m not 100% sure about children on this tour. I think the parents should decide if it’s something their child can cope with. This would need some careful thought. In my humble opinion, kids under 10 may struggle with it. To sum up, fantastic attraction, superb actors, spooky venue and you learn/laugh a lot. Worth every penny

You can’t visit York without visiting the Dungeon! Fab experience with engaging theatre, history, spookiness and humour. Loved the interaction too. Don’t miss it!

A fun hour and half with the family. We weren’t too sure what to expect which only added to the experience. There was a suggestion on booking our youngest (age 7) might find it too much but he loved it. The staff and characters throughout were excellent.
