See the best Holland has to offer in a 7 hour tour which covers the world-famous Zaanse Schans with its windmills. You will also drive through the countryside to the farmers town of Katwoude to visit a cheese farm and the fisherman village of Volendam.
Your personal private guide and driver will tell you everything about these places and its history. At Volendam, a stop is scheduled for a typical Dutch lunch (included). At Zaanse Schans, you will visit a wooden shoe workshop for a demonstration of clog making and a working Industrial windmill (entrance fee included). In Volendam, you will board a boat for a boat tour on the former inner sea Zuiderzee.
As this is a private tour, you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel in Amsterdam or any other for you convenient place in or near Amsterdam.

5.00Maiky (spelling?) was our guide for the day. She was full of personality and information. The vendors at the different stops knew her which was helpful. The windmill stop in Zaanse Schans was great. We could take as much time as we wanted and weren’t rushed. We enjoyed the cheese stop and clog demonstration, as well. We were able to choose from 3 restaurants for our lunch and Maiky had the menus available for us to look at in advance, which we appreciated. Volendam was nice, too. My 2 points of constructive criticism are this- we booked many tours for our 12 day trip and all tour operators EXCEPT this one, sent a message via Viator several days in advance letting us know the details of the tour as fart as tour guide name and reminding about the start time. This co. Did not acknowledge the booking ever which didn’t give us the warm, fuzzy feeling that they even knew about it. My second point is the ferry to Marken was unnecessary. We took the 30 minute ferry while our guide drove t Marken and she met us there. But we didn’t know where to meet her. She said “she’d find us” and it was not as easy as that . We wasted more time looking for her than enjoying Marken. I would recommend driving to Marken with the guide and allowing her to show you around. Or skip Marken altogether and spend more time in Volendam. Even with my last 2 points I do recommend the tour!

5.00Excellent resident knowledge! Tour included Village, Farm & History content; old, dike with reclaim background, new tech farming & fishing overview. Lunch with local residents away from tourists was appreciated for quality and culture. The dairy farm has on demand robotic milking with individual cow data base for milk production. Village had various working windmills. Volendam boat transfer had fabulous onboard ferry local engagement, easy for Canadians. Get off the beaten path, experience.

5.00Our tour guide was the sweetest person we have ever met. She has knowlodge about everthing and tell us very nicely. We loved our tour so much. One day we will come back to the city again and will deal with her again for getting a tour with our family and friends. She was friendly, nice and kind person. Thanks a lot for everything to her.

5.00Omg, our tour guide Kalemn took us around windmills, high up in the chamber and explained everything to us from back in the Viking days. Kalemn was the BEST tour guide we had on our 11 day vacation and tours. If you have the opportunity to request his for this tour, definitely do it. He also took us through the heart of Amsterdam ( my request), which made this tour the tops!!! Our lunch was an amazing experience learning about smoke eel. My husband loved that!

5.00To see the country side around Amsterdam in one day this is your tour. We were picked up at our hotel in downtown Amsterdam (not an easy place to get around by car) and taken to see and experience all things Dutch: charming Dutch village, process of making wooden shoes, windmill operations, automated milk cow farm and cheese making and wonderful lunch at a restaurant perched atop a dike next a lake. Wonderful day tailored to our interests. Highly recommend.
