Gornergrat views and the Zermatt town is absolutely astounding. Our guide negotiated the 8 or so train connections that day expertly. However, we were, surprisingly, the only two in the group that day, so direct conversation on the 3-4 hour train rides to and from destinations was a large part of the trip. Unfortunately, our views on life didn’t align well. We listened and were polite, but uncomfortable. Being American, we know our country is very unpopular right now, but not one positive thing was said about it during the day and it got a little hard to hear after a while.

The tour was the highlight of my time in Switzerland. Our guild was Erich Schurch. He was informative and very knowledgeable. He was also a wiz at navigating the train system that we traveled on. After our tour Erich actually walked us to our hotel. Great guild.

From Zurich getting to Zermatt is a big deal, two trains and three hours each way. That said, if the weather is good this is one heck of an experience. Tour guide Martin (sorry if my spelling is incorrect) was fantastic and made life a breeze.

Ulrich is the best guide we have ever had , and we’ve had a few. Met us at the train and was by our side all day …… 3 trains and a gondola we were staring at the Matterhorn… Just an amazing gentleman. Request him and ask about his past career… Fascinating!!

Two city trains and two cog wheel trains to get to the top of Gornergrat and Michael coordinated it all perfectly. He even ran ahead each time we changed trains to make sure we were able to get a good seat. The multiple train rides were worth it when we arrived at our destination…the top of Gornergrat! What breathtaking beauty! The sun was shining so we had a perfect day to see all the peaks including the Matterhorn. Michael took so many great pictures of us. It was like having our own personal photographer with us! Michael suggested we have lunch on the outside terrace. It was 37 degrees Fahrenheit but with the sun shining, it was perfect to sit outside and enjoy our cheese raclette. From the top of Gornergrat we took the cog wheel train back to Zermatt and spent time visiting all the special spots that Michael was familiar with in Zermatt. Such a perfect day! Seeing the Matterhorn allows me to cross one thing off my bucket list. My husband loved the tour as much as I did. The memories and photos we were able to bring home with us will be treasured for years to come. Our thanks to Michael for a marvelous day!!

We were riding on a train to Zermatt - loved it not to be in a car. Especially for the long ride, but it was smooth and comfy. Were walking throug Zermatt and then tourguide took us to a mountain place with breathtaking view to Matterhorn. Over all is was a long day but we had a fantastic guide and we were just four people on the tour.

An unforgettable experience! The scenic train ride alone from Zürich to Zermatt was worth the trip – every moment felt like a postcard. Reaching the Gornergrat was absolutely breathtaking, with views of the Matterhorn. Our guide Mike made everything smooth and enjoyable, sharing interesting facts along the way. A true highlight of my short layover in Switzerland!

This tour was an unforgettable experience! The journey from Zürich to Zermatt was smooth and comfortable, with breathtaking Swiss landscapes along the way. In Zermatt, we explored the charming alpine village before taking the Gornergrat railway up to one of the best viewpoints of the Matterhorn. The views were absolutely stunning. The tour made the experience feel personal and relaxed, and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. . Highly recommended!

Excellent full day trip. Small group experience. Our local tour guide, Ueli, was excellent. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and pleasant. He kept us on schedule without stress. There is a lot to try to fit in in one day. More time in Zermatt would have been nice, but it's already a full long day. There is plenty of time at the Matterhorn to see everything there, including the little chapel, and the museum/interactive indoor experience. Seeing the Matterhorn was on my bucket list and this was a well organized way to do it in one day from Zurich. Recommend this tour.
