Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque
Colombo Red Mosque, also known as Jami Ul-Alfar Masjid, is literally an architectural wonder for the world that would stun you with its unusual color patterns and unconventional yet amazing design. Located in Pe History of Colombo Red Mosque Colombo had always been a welcoming hub for international trade where Arabs frequented and populated enormously. They had to perform their five-times compulsory daily rituals. For that reason, the Indian Muslim Community was commissioned to put up a mosque in Pettah. Works commenced in 1908, the construction of the Colombo Red Mosque (Jami-Ul-Alfar Mosque) was finished in just a year. Habibu Labbe Saibu Labbe was the chief designer of the building who relied on Indo-Saracenic and Neo-classical architectural styles. In 1975, the Mosque's capacity was extended as much as 10,000.

5.00This tour is one I will always remember. Our tour guide Faslan was amazing! His knowledge of the city made the tour so detailed. Such a good way to see Colombo all in one day. Faslan kept checking in and making sure we enjoyed every part of our day. Was so fun to explore the city via tuk tuk. Will definitely book again if I come back! We got amazing photos and we left smiling. If you are looking for the best way to see Colombo I 100% recommend this tour. I didn’t feel like a tour felt really genuine and welcoming, was a super fun day!! 😊😊😊😊

5.00Right on time at 10 AM, my tour of Colombo started. Fasmy explained everything clearly and gave me as much time as I needed everywhere. It was an amazing tour. My personal highlights were the red mosque and the tea tasting!

5.00I booked this tour at the last minute the evening before. Fasmy then quickly contacted me via WhatsApp and informed me when and where he would pick me up. He was very punctual at the specified location and off we went. The tour was very informative and funny. I was never rushed, which is already difficult since I am a really annoying photo junkie😅. I would do this tour again anytime. I would be very happy to do it again with Fasmy. Thank you for the wonderful time!
