Established in 1999, Encounters With Dolphins has been safely providing guests the opportunity to view dolphins, learn about Clearwater and enjoy the sand and sun on Compass Island and maybe even take a dip on the island! We are a small business founded on the principal of wanting our guests to have the same experiences we would want to have on our own vacation. We’re also proud of the fact that almost all of our staff are either marine biologist, conservationist or experts in marine wildlife. All of us work tirelessly to ensure that all of our customers have an enjoyable and relaxing time with us!

Come join us on a fun filled, narrated sightseeing tour of Clearwater’s harbor. Enjoy a relaxing ride while you learn about our abundant wildlife, and view the area’s dolphins in their natural environment. Every trip stops at Compass Island where you can collect shells, swim and the kids can even hunt for treasure! Excursions depart from the Clearwater Beach Marina multiple times every day. Spend an hour and a half to an hour and forty five minutes with our highly trained crew in the Clearwater Harbor on board our brand new 40 foot Coast Guard inspected excursion boat. For twenty to thirty minutes during your trip, the boat will stop at Compass Island where you will have the opportunity to shell hunt through thousands of shells, swim and enjoy the island.

5.00There are a lot of boat tour options off of Clearwater Beach and we were very happy with the Encounters with Dolphins Tour and staff. Checkin was easy, it was a nice and relaxing boat ride, great for kids and adults. The Captain and our boat tour guide Makayla were both great! Lots of dolphin sightings and the island stop was great for the kiddos.

5.00The excursion was just wonderful! We saw a number of dolphins along the ride. The captain and host of the boat were super friendly and offered some fun information about the animals in the area. Also, our boat had a cover on it. Made the ride so much more comfortable in the summer heat. A couple items to note: 1) I believe it would have been cheaper just to purchase tickets there and not online. There are several times the boat goes out so no worries about tickets selling out. 2) You have to pay for parking at the marina. Wait to pay for the parking until AFTER you check in with Dolphin Encounters. They give you a code that allows for a cheaper and longer parking time. Overall, would definitely recommend!

5.00We had decided about an hour in that, even if we didn't see any dolphins, we still very much enjoyed this tour! The ladies were wonderful and funny, and being out on the water was amazing!
