If you are looking for a traditional tourist trap—bouncing around in a jeep through mud pits, blaring music, and making five-minute stops to take the exact same photo as everyone else—I’m afraid I am not the right guide for you.
My name is Hernâni Magalhães, and I see the Natural Park through a different lens.
To most people, these mountains are just grey rocks and olive trees. To me, they are an open book dating back 175 million years. Where others see a stone wall, I show you a Jurassic period fossil. Where others see a dip in the ground, I show you actual footprints of giant dinosaurs that walked exactly where we are standing.
I believe deep exploration requires two things: curiosity and the time to truly reflect.
That is why my expeditions are private, designed for curious minds, and conducted aboard a premium AWD SUV. No rush, no noise, and with absolute respect for the sustainability of this ancient ecosystem.

Batista Amado Park – the starting point to feel the living Earth Between the silence of Mendiga and the murmur of the hills, Batista Amado Park is where the journey begins. Here, stone and water have been meeting for millions of years, shaping the territory and teaching us to listen to the landscape. It is the natural portal to the "Telhados d’Água" (Water Roofs), where limestone breathes and rain carves ephemeral shapes. In this space of balance between man and nature, every step prepares the visitor for what lies ahead: a total immersion into the karst heart of the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Nature Park.

5.00This was by far one of the greatest experience we had. If you do the same without a guide and by your own it is impossible to reach so much in a single day and to learn all the things we had learned. I highly recommend the 1 day tour. Great value for the money!

5.00We had a fantastic day with Hernâni driving around in Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Condeeiras and can recommend this tour to everyone. Hernâni is a very knowledgable guide. He knows a lot about the park, about the nature, biodiversity, geology and history of the park. He had a good feel of what we were interested in, which was basically all of the above. He brought us to some unique sites with dinosaur footprints and fossils, but also drove us to spectacular views. During some small hikes he showed us all different kinds of flowers, herbs and vegetation and explained park management in relation to the impact of the quarries. You could sense his love for the park. Besides all this, he treated us on a homemade cake and some delicious herbal tea during lunch. In the end we also received some great wine from a local vineyard. Hernâni, thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

5.00Hernani, a professional, pleasant, informative guide, guided us on a tour of the park area and introduced us to places we would not get to independently, even though we arrived by car. We saw fossils, traces of dinosaurs, visited an amazing cave at viewpoints and ate a stunning lunch. Through Hernani's stories we also got to know life in Portugal history and people.

5.00The whole tour was spectacular, Mr Hernâni is super attentive and has knowledge of the area at 100%, takes us to places that we would never discover ourselves, from telling stories about the events of each exploration and the knowledge of each place we visited... Super patient with our kids who are pests, very attentive to any danger that could be with them (which basically was no 😂). From lunch to snack in the morning and afternoon, with homemade cake and hot tea, also fruit and juices for the children. The lunch was made at the Retiro da Avó Lidia where we spent 2 excellent nights with a divine breakfast. The retreat wine is a real delight advice to buy a few bottles to remember later. Super sympathetic, we feel that Mr Hernâni is D. Teresa were also a member of our family. We loved the tour and believe that to fantastic sites that only with Hernâni we were able to discover. WE LOVE... We recommend any tour with Hernâni 😊.
