What is a CDW?
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an optional form of insurance similar to rental car insurance that limits your liability in case of accident. It is non-refundable. If you opt to purchase the CDW your deposit for rented a GoCar is only USD$300.00 instead of USD$500.00
GoCar’s hold a maximum of 2 people. Prices are per GoCar - not per person.
Can you cross the Golden Gate Bridge?
No, but the tour will navigate you to Fort Point. Here the bridge soars about 200-feet above your head. It is possible to gain pedestrian access to the bridge span from the car park at the bridge vantage point.
All renters must be able to read, understand and sign a liability release and waiver form (standard participant agreement)
Yes, you set your own pace. The car always knows where you are and you can park anywhere you want (motorcycle parking or car parking) for as long as you want, and as soon as you start to drive again, the car will begin to talk!
Do you have to stay on the tour?
Are controlled with a motorcycle-style handle, throttle, and hand brakes. The 3-wheeled cars seat two and have a lockable trunk for your things. Their small size makes parking a breeze, and in San Francisco - a major bonus!
Pickup location must be chosen at time of booking. This is the location where your GoCar will be reserved
On the day of rental, a $500 security deposit will be held on the customer’s credit card. If a CDW or SLI insurance plan is selected, a $300 security deposit will be held. The security deposit is released when the GoCar is returned.
Vehicles:
For the safety and comfort of passengers the maximum height is 6'4" (1.9m) and maximum combined weight of 500 lbs (226.8 kg) for two passengers
Passengers must be 4 years of age or older - and small children must safely fit into one of our DOT approved helmets. The GoCar is registered as a motorcycle - but a motorcycle license is not required to operate the vehicle.
Foreign language options are available in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German
Up to 35-mph. Note that drivers in San Francisco do not typically drive fast, therefore an average speed of 30-mph or less can be expected while driving.
Absolutely not! If there is a San Francisco sight you wish to see but is not yet included on the tour, just use the map provided to navigate your own way through the city streets. You can even put a CD in the stereo and enjoy music along the way!
How fast does the car go?
Can you stop along the way?
Driver must be 21 years or older to rent and must provide a major credit card and valid driver’s license at the time of check-in. A driver’s license must be in the customer’s physical possession (no photocopy). For foreign customer’s, an international license is not necessary.
Palace of Fine Arts Theatre
The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. In addition to hosting art exhibitions, it remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals.
Golden Gate Bridge
Certainly the most-photographed bridge in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge is synonymous with San Francisco. Drive up to the viewing area, or the foot of the bridge at Fort Point, to take pictures. You can take even better pictures at Baker Beach, a few minutes drive past the bridge!

The cars were so much fun however do your research before. We booked through the go city pass and it said we could take the cars over the Golden Gate Bridge. When we checked in we were told we could NOT take the cars over the bridge that we would have to rent one of the larger cars that were not available in the pass. We were very disappointed with that. Secondly, we were on the one hour gps guided tour and had to follow the full directions in order to find our way back to the shop but with having to sit in traffic for quite a while, we were not able to stop at all to take pictures and we were still 15 minutes late returning causing us to be charged with the overage fee.

First rate from booking to handing the cart back. Very safety conscious, great customer service and the route taken was a fantastic way to see San Fran. Great fun, wish we’d booked longer.

What a fun time! We had a full day so only did one hour. Wish we had had time for 2 hours but honestly we finished feeling like it was totally worth it for even an hour. So happy we had time to do Lombard Street! That was the highlight honestly. But we laughed so hard the whole time. And everyone was taking pictures of us which was hysterical

It is something to definitely do when you have the time while in san Francisco. We did 3 hours and it was just the right amount of time without stopping on side trips therefore I would recommend a little longer, like 4 hours

This was such a fun experience but we did have issues. Due to traffic our one hour tour was closer to two hours so if you really want an hour I would suggest finding a less busy day. We were told we could park anytime we wanted for photos but, again, because of the traffic we didn’t feel like we could find anyplace to park and we just didn’t have time. Given all that I still recommend this tour. We saw some things we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. For example, we drove by the Palace of Fine Arts and were in awe! We wanted to spend more time there so we changed our plans for the next day to accommodate that. We had an absolutely fantastic time in the Go Cars!

We did the 1hr GPS guided tour in San Francisco and it was AWESOME!!!! If we would have had more time that day we would have stayed on for the 2hr tour but we had to leave for the airport. We would definitely recommend this as a great way to see the top tourist spots.

The vehicle was a lot of fun to drive and got loads of people stopping to photo or video us on our trip. The audio tour and guide is really useful, especially if you don't know San Francisco very well. The 1 hour tour was enough for us, given the day was overcast with very low cloud, so even the Golden Gate Bridge (up close) wasn't visible. But we got to see loads of other great places and enjoyed coming down Lombard Street (the curvy street often used on films) in our bright yellow vehicle.
