What To Expect
One of the best ways to see the Lowcountry is from a kayak! On this 2-hour guided tour you'll embark from Shelter Cove Marina and kayak in the Broad Creek. You'll receive a brief paddle clinic followed by a nature based tour of salt marshes, tidal rivers and creeks. Get the chance to spot dolphins, birds, take in the fantastic views and learn about the rich history and culture of Hilton Head. We encourage clothing appropriate for water activities and bringing water, snacks, and sunscreen. Children 12 & under MUST be accompanied by an adult in a double kayak. 5.00We had an amazing experience with Outside for a family kayaking tour during our Hilton Head vacation. I can't say enough about our main guide, Hodge. He has such a fantastic personality and not only made the trip so much fun, but was also so clear with instructions, safety info, and interesting facts throughout the tour, and was so supportive and engaging with the kids in our group. You should go just to meet and hang out with this guy. Trent was another guide assisting us and he was also great, easy to talk to, adding to the tour info, and pulling up the rear to keep us all in line. The tour was a good length (2 hrs) and had the perfect balance of freedom to paddle and stops for chatting. Also love that Outside really seems to care about the ecosystem here and has initiated and maintains several efforts to engage the community and implement sustainability programs. Huge thanks to this team!

5.00A great family adventure. Learned a lot about the saltwater marshes and tidal effect. Hodge, our guide, was a hoot and very engaging. He and our guide in training, Trent, were very knowledgeable and made it a fun, memorable adventure.

5.00Wayne was a great guide- very knowledgeable about both kayaking and the area, wildlife and nature. You received an education in the wildlife in the HHI waters and got to see glimpses of mantitees, herons, and even a dolphin.
