Enjoy an early dinner at the historic Shinkiya restaurant before the fireworks display, and indulge in a Western-style lunch on the second day, topped off with a visit to the picturesque Kichijoji Temple.

Operated by Club Tourism, a leading Japanese travel company with over 70 years of experience, this high-quality tour offers a safe and reliable travel experience in Japan. Accompanied by a tour leader known for excellent hospitality, it has received high praise from travelers of many nationalities.

Additional Info

Public transportation options are available nearby

Suitable for all physical fitness levels

This tour is operated for both Japanese and foreign customers. An English-speaking tour conductor will accompany the group and provide key information. Please note that the tour conductor is not a tour guide and will focus on sharing essential information during the tour.

This tour requires a minimum of 2 participants. Single participation is not permitted.

During peak travel periods, special trains may be used. Final departure and arrival stations for the round-trip Shinkansen service, either Tokyo or Ueno, will be confirmed in the final notification sent around 1 week before the departure. If the departure station will be Ueno, the meeting location will be also changed to Ueno.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate special dietary requests, including food allergies. If you have specific dietary needs, we recommend making your own meal arrangements. No refunds will be provided for meals.

Lunch on Day-1 is not included. Please prepare food in advance to eat on board the train.

After watching the fireworks, the arrival at the hotel will be late at night.

Delays due to transportation issues or non-participation will be subject to cancellation fees. The tour will depart at the time indicated

Due to requests from national or local governments, festivals may be canceled or the content may be changed

In the event of severe weather, the fireworks festival may be canceled at the discretion of the organizers. If cancellation is decided before the tour departs from Tokyo Station, the tour will be canceled. If no decision is made prior to departure, the tour will operate as scheduled. No refunds will be issued after the tour has departed.

Fireworks viewing is from reserved chair and table seating on the left bank of the Shinano River. Guests will sit on pipe chairs placed directly on the riverbank ground. Bringing a plastic sheet or newspaper is recommended to place under the chair for belongings.

Arrival at the fireworks venue will be between approximately 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to avoid surrounding traffic congestion. As fireworks typically begin around 7:30 PM, guests should expect a long waiting period and are advised to prepare accordingly for heat.

The walk from the bus parking area to the viewing seats is typically about 10 minutes. After the fireworks end, police traffic control causes significant congestion, and it usually takes 2–3 hours for buses to leave the parking area.

Due to expected heavy crowds, the itinerary prioritizes fireworks viewing. Some parts of the schedule may be adjusted if necessary. In addition, bus safety regulations may require extended waiting times before departing from stations or hotels.

Tripods may not be used above seated eye level during fireworks viewing. This is to ensure all guests can enjoy the show comfortably.

Umbrellas are not permitted at the fireworks venue. Please bring rainwear such as a raincoat if rain is expected. Sun umbrellas may be used until sunset.

Flashlights are strongly recommended, as the walking route from the fireworks venue back to the parking area is dark.

Children aged 0–6 years are not permitted to join this tour for safety reasons.

The planning for this tour is based on information as of April 1, 2026. Due to requests from national or local governments, festivals may be canceled, or changes may occur to the event content

Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks

You will experience the iconic Nagaoka Fireworks Festival, one of Japan’s most emotionally powerful summer events, from reserved chair‑and‑table seating on the left bank of the Shinano River. This setup features pipe chairs with tables arranged along the riverbank behind the chair seating area, allowing you to relax comfortably throughout the entire program. Nagaoka’s fireworks are renowned for their immense scale, artistic composition, and storytelling that honors remembrance and recovery. Massive bursts fill the sky in carefully choreographed sequences, culminating in a breathtaking finale that leaves a lasting impression. The fireworks proceed even in light rain, though severe weather may lead to cancellation at the organizers’ discretion. Due to traffic regulations around the venue, heavy congestion is expected after the show—this is an unavoidable part of attending such a nationally significant festival.

Nestled in the tranquil natural surroundings of Minami‑Uonuma, the auberge offers an elegant and intimate retreat that provides a calming contrast to the excitement of the fireworks. The refined design and serene atmosphere make it an ideal place to unwind after a long yet unforgettable evening.
