Sea Monkey Adventures is San Diego’s first family-friendly sailing tour company, dedicated to helping families create unforgettable memories. Our vessel is thoughtfully designed to be warm and inviting, featuring handcrafted yellow cushions on the top deck to comfortably seat groups as big as 12, and as small as 2.
Our tours now accommodate up to 12 passengers, perfect for bringing children, grandparents, parents, and close friends together.
This private 2.5 hour sunset sail is our most popular option! With its beautiful golden hour, we all get to watch San Diego’s sky turn on its charm. We will sail between downtown and Coronado. With its steady wind we will sail calmly across the bay while watching the sun setting and the buildings of Downtown reflect its beautiful fiery colors. The bay will most likely have clear gentle water, allowing us to go with our motor and with little leaning.

Harbor Island Park
Sea Monkey Adventures's marina is located in the Safe Harbor Sunroad Marina. Your sunset sail will pass out of the Harbor Island
USS Midway Museum
We have the opportunity to sail very close between the US midway to the Kissing statue, getting an amazing view on both sides.

5.00The private boat ride was so fun and relaxing! We were there for a bachelorette trip and this activity was a highlight of the weekend. The captain also knew all of the best spots for pictures. Highly recommend!

5.00This was our first time doing a private sailing experience, which we had seen recommended by other families. It's always nice to work with a company that is specifically welcoming of families with kids. Captain Gus was extremely patient with our grandkids who asked non-stop questions throughout the cruise. At one point we were laughing because our shark-obsessed grandson was challenging him with Shark knowledge and Captain Gus said "I think I'm holding my own"!!!! Our grandaughter said "this was better than I expected"! Very relaxing sail with a very knowledgeable and experienced captain.

5.00I had a wonderful time on my sunset sail with Sea Monkey. Let's start with their communication which was great. They sent a text and an email reminder a couple of days before the sail. They had clear directions and recommendations on what to bring. The parking is a little funky - the lot you go into has a weird ticket box thing that has a glare and was hard to read, but once in it was easy to park and very close to the meeting spot. There were only 6 of us on the boat, I think more than that would be crowded. On the boat they had snacks and water and blankets for us. We all sat on the bow on cushions that are built in. We started by going straight towards downtown, then went past all the usual suspects - Star of India, Midway, Unconditional Surrender statue, The Shell - then we went under the bridge and over to Coronado and into an inlet just outside the Hotel Del. It was so pretty and peaceful. We didn't get to put the sail up, but I didn't care, I was just happy to be on the water. On the way back we went back by The Shell and Top Gun Maverick was playing so we watched for a couple minutes. If you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable evening out, this is a great option!

5.00Very nice well maintained boat. Capt Gus was excellent and even shared the helm with some of the kids. It was an exciting trip for all but the 7-11 years old really LOVED IT!!! Reservation was easy to make with plenty of follow up info before the cruise. We would highly recommend. Parking was a little bit of an issue due to a large boat show.

5.00Fantastic sunset cruise! We had a great evening with Captain Gus who was very friendly and knowledgeable. We have done other cruises in San Diego but this one was the best. Great boat with snacks and drinks and a blanket which came in handy as the sun set. Will definitely use again and highly recommend!
