Upon arrival at Jinka Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional guide and driver. Begin your scenic drive to Turmi, the cultural heartland of the Hamer people. Along the way, stop for a memorable photo opportunity with the young Bena stick boys, known for their traditional attire and pastoral lifestyle. Continue through the spectacular landscapes of the South Omo Valley, passing remote villages and enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Arrive in Turmi in the late afternoon and visit a traditional Hamer village. Meet members of one of Ethiopia's most iconic indigenous communities and learn about their unique customs, elaborate hairstyles, colorful beadwork, daily life, and centuries-old traditions. After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to the village of the Karo people, one of the smallest and most artistic tribes in the South Omo Valley. Renowned for their elaborate body painting, scarification, and unique cultural traditions, the Karo live on the banks of the Omo River, offering spectacular views and excellent photography opportunities. Spend time learning about their daily life and customs before returning to Turmi. Depending on your travel date, you may have the opportunity to witness the famous Hamer Bull Jumping Ceremony, an extraordinary coming-of-age ritual for young Hamer men. This ceremony is not held daily, but if it takes place during your visit, your guide will ensure you experience this unforgettable cultural event. After lunch, drive back to Jinka.
