A unique possibility therefore to discover the beautiful Modena hills and taste two of the most famous DOP products in the world: Parmesan and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

What To Expect
An e-bike tour suitable for everyone up and down the rolling hills of Castelvetro di Modena. We will visit a dairy where Parmigiano Reggiano PDO is produced and I will lead you through a complete journey to discover all the stages of the creation of Parmigiano Reggiano. We will enter the dairy during the processing and we will assist in the realization of the Parmesan cheese forms. We will then have the chance to taste it right where it is produced. Afterwards we will move on board our e-bikes to a beautiful vinegar factory where Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is produced and after the visit we can taste different types of vinegar. A unique experience where nature and taste will meet! We can arrange a pick-up at your hotel, by prior arrangement before the tour (service not included).

5.00This is mostly biking, with a nice tour of the cheese factory, and a brief stop at the vinegar factory. The ambience, views, and overall experience are really amazing. The guides are extremely accommodating. Please note if you are not a cyclist on a regular basis, you will find this excursion somewhat uncomfortable. But the bikes are great and the battery is quite strong.

5.00We had a nice time. Here’s what i wished I would’ve realized. I assumed it met in or near Modena City Center. I didn’t realize it was a 35 minute cab ride each way from our City Hotel. Also I was worried about hills based on a few reviews I read. This overweight 54 year old had no problem whatsoever. The ebikes completely handled going up the hills for me making them a non-issue. There were some big downhills that were fine, but downhill, no matter how big, is never a problem for me. Most of the travelling was on nicely paved roads. There was a small mountain of gravel and bumpy roads too The bikes were well fit for my tall family.

5.00What a wonderful experience! After a few hectic sightseeing days in Rome and Florence, this bike trip was an incredible change of pace. Alice was super easy to work with, and our guide Tomasso expertly took us through the Parmesan and balsamic production/tasting facilities. As amazing as the food was, it was a backseat to the lovely rolling hills around Castleveltro with scenic vineyards and farms providing the backdrop. We were even gifted some homemade honey as our trip was an anniversary celebration. Couldn’t recommend highly enough for those looking for an active escape from the city tourist activities.

5.00We really enjoyed our bike ride through the hills (thankful it was an e-bike on the uphills)-so nice to experience this beautiful region in this way. Our guide, Tommaso, was terrific, sharing his local knowledge and chatting about biking in the area. Seeing in-person how Parmigiano Reggiano and Balsamic vinegar have been created for generations was a highlight. We ate delicious samples and learned the difference that time can make in the flavor of these favorite foods. A lovely day, a bike ride, food, a great guide in a beautiful area-delightful!

4.00Tour guides were great and the tours were wonderful. Such a beautiful country! Despite providing our heights however the correct size bike was not provided for my daughter which caused some challenges. I wish I would have known that before the start of the activity.

5.00I chose to join the bike tour as a way to take a break from Modena for the day, get active, and soak in the beautiful natural surroundings. Alice was very helpful and communicative in the days leading up to my arrival, ensuring I had everything I needed, including transport details (I caught the 740 bus from Modena Autostazione). My guide, Tommaso, an avid mountain biker, was incredibly knowledgeable—not only about the local landscape but also during our visits to the Parmigiano and balsamic vinegar producers. Meeting the artisans behind these iconic products added an authentic and memorable touch to the experience. The terrain was gentle, and the e-bike made the few uphill stretches easy to handle. It was my first time using this type of bike, everything was well maintained, and Tommaso even offered to carry my belongings (plus 1kg of Parmigiano), in his backpack, lightning my load, which was a thoughtful gesture. Grazie mille! All in all, a fantastic way to explore the Modena countryside—great pace, great company, and great views. I only wish it lasted longer. 10/10, highly recommended!

5.00My daughter and I decided to do this excursion during our quick trip to Modena and are so glad we did! Alice communicated with us before the trip, and helped us secure a ride from our apartment to the meeting spot and back. We met our guide/host, Tommaso,got set up with our bikes and headed out. We took a scenic route to the cheese factory and got a firsthand look at how Parmesan is made. So many great photo ops! From there, we headed to the balsamic tasting and enjoyed a private tour and tasting in a medieval tower. Of course we bought some balsamic! We ended our excursion by taking in the gorgeous countryside views on the ride back to our meeting spot. It was the perfect morning adventure with a friendly host who did a great job explaining/answering questions, taking our pics and holding all our things in his backpack (while not riding an e-bike like us!) We would highly recommend booking this excursion if you’re in Modena!
