We send our most experienced captains on these trips because they demand high levels of creativity in targeting a combination of different species.
Booking this trip gives you the freedom to define the experience. You may choose from a variety of vessels, target halibut, salmon, lingcod, rockfish, pacific cod, Dungeness crab, or chase sightseeing opportunities and wildlife. We also love to combine this fishing excursion with dining experiences featuring your fresh catch; either at our rustic fish camp deep in the National Forest; or a chef-prepared meal at our restaurant at the harbor after your return. This was my third fishingvtrip with Baranof Fishing Charters and once again, they did not let me down. We were on an 8-hour trip for halibut and salmon. The action was steady, landing 6 large halibut (one was over the size limit), and 5 King Salmon. Our guide, Chris, knew the hot spots and techniques needed to set the hook on these beauties. Fantastic boat, equipment, and of course, their famous salmon dip. We will be back again to fish with Chris and Baranof.

Captain Geoff and son Gage were awesome. Unbelievable day and we absolutely killed the fish. We are coming back to Ketchikan to fish with these guys again. They know it all and we had an absolute blast.

Talon is the man! Had a great time hanging out with him and land a large king salmon within 20 minutes of putting bait in the water - highly recommend!

Captain Dave was great! Safe fun experience. Lucked out with seeing a Humpback, some Portis, and caught a few Rock fish, a Flounder, and a Cod. We'll get the Halibut next time. Giving some time to grow.

Highly Recommend!! Garret was a great captain and was very intelligent. He took us to a couple different spots to ensure each of our party catch at least one. Overall amazing day and experience!!

Booked a 4 hour charter while visiting Ketchikan via cruise ship. It was early in the season, so our expectations were tempered. After a 30-40 minute boat ride, we started bottom fishing in about 300 feet of water and were instantly on the fish. We caught varied species including arrow tooth flounder, halibut, spiny dogfish, pacific cod, and several species of rockfish. We then moved closer to shore and proceeded to catch many more rockfish on light tackle. Captain David worked hard to get us on the fish and was very busy helping land multiple hook ups the entire morning. We even had the excitement of a close encounter with humpback whales. He is one of the best charter boat captains in Ketchikan! Book your next angling adventure with Baronof fishing. You won’t be disappointed!

Fished 3 days with Captain Chris in September and loved it. I’ve fished with many guides and this is as good as it gets. Everything from booking, to trip prep, to lunch and eventually fish prep/freezing was streamlined and easy. We just had to show up and have fun. Chris was knowledgeable and fun to be with. We caught mountains of fish. Also, fishing with a man after God’s heart was incredible in an industry that often comes with filth and foul language. I would 100% recommend this company for anyone from families with small kids to the most experienced and diehard fisherman.
