What To Expect
Discover the art of natural perfumery in the heart of Tuscany. Create your own signature scent using essential oils and take home a personalized fragrance. Your experience begins in the Tuscan countryside at Podere Barbarella 1863 , just outside San Gimignano. You’ll meet your local host and the team from Acqua di San Gimignano for a short introduction to the workshop. You’ll learn about San Gimignano’s PDO saffron, known as the region’s “red gold,” and its historical importance. The guide will explain how local raw materials inspire the fragrances you will work with. Through a guided smelling session, you’ll explore different fragrance notes and essences connected to the Tuscan landscape. You’ll discover how top, heart, and base notes interact and how a perfume is structured. Reconnecting to yourself surrounded by nature , you will have a digital detox from your phone creating your own perfume.

5.00I lived a unique and unforgettable experience, creating your own fragrance is something special and here at Podere Barbarella everything has been taken care of in every detail! My friends and I were welcomed in this beautiful place by very kind people who told us the story of San Gimignano and its scents. The most exciting part was definitely the creation of my personalized fragrance, thanks to the help of our teacher I combined the essences and found the right balance for my perfume!! The environment is relaxing and stimulates creativity, perfect for a different experience and live a new and authentic emotion. I will definitely come back to create new special memories! Absolutely recommended 💖

5.00My boyfriend and I were on vacation in the area and this experience really caught our attention. We wanted something different from the usual tours and we definitely found it! We created our own fragrance and we discovered so much about how an organic fragrance is made. It was so interesting to discover the true story of San Gimignano through its scents, especially the history of the towers and the saffron. The atmosphere at Podere Barbarella is beautiful and the passion they put into their fragrances is clear. If you’re looking for a unique and romantic memory of Tuscany, I highly recommend it!
