If you have seen the Riverwalk and the Alamo...this is something really different. The King William District began in the 1860's when the first lots were sold. This location is minutes from the heart of San Antonio. Located next to the meandering river, you will be captivated by the grandeur of these residences. Hear the stories behind 40 historic homes where many of the city's most prominent citizens lived. See the beautiful residence built by the man who created the first ice cream soda, the refuge of the eccentric socialite who was buried in her Ferrari, and the house where the inventor of the corn chip resided. Also, the home that had the first electric lights in the city, and the houses of a famous tenor who sang at the White House and another where a writer began her career. What do Elvis Presley, Lily Munster, Davy Crockett, and Frank Sinatra have to do with King William ? Hear these stories and many more on your guided walking tour. We really enjoyed learning the stories, history, and architecture of the King William area. Our guide, Stewart, was excellant. He had a story and the history of each of the homes in the district. His presentation was detailed without being overwhelming, well paced and a fun exchange with the six people in our group.

Loved learning about the area’s history. The homes were descibed architecturally. Really enjoyed the stories of the families and how they each influenced San Antonia. Stewart was an excellent guide. He also had pictures of the people and their occupations

We had a nice size group of 10 people. The walking tour started on time and lasted about 3 hours. Stewart is a wealth of interesting knowledge about the different homes and the people who owned them. He showed us extra photo information to enhance the experience. I highly recommend the adventure!
