The group meets at our Jasper office located downtown at 635 Connaught Drive (Big grey C-can). After getting your gear and an overview of the day, we provide transportation to the climbing site, a 20 minute drive from town. Once on site your guide will provide some basic instruction on the equipment and you will begin by learning how to use the ropes to safely lower down the cliff. Once established at the bottom, your instructor will provide simple yet effective instruction on how to use the equipment to safeguard each other on the wall, a technique called belaying. Your guide will set-up the rope systems and you will have an opportunity to climb a variety of routes ranging from “easy” to “challenging”. Your guide will ensure safety and provide coaching as you engage the challenge in a beautiful spot next to the Athabasca river. This trip involves a short 10 minute hike to the climbing site. We welcome all fitness levels for this trip, but we recommend a basic fitness that allows you to hike a short distance and the willingness to try standing on your toes on a limestone wall. If you become tired on the wall, it is no problem to lower back down, take a rest, and try again.

This is an exhilarating experience. I did four decents and four climbs…which was plenty for a first-time climber. Harry was a great guide.

After a booking error made by the travel agency they tried everything to still make our trip possible at no extra cost. Miriam was a great guide and perfectly tailored the experience toward us.

Our guide was incredible. She was knowledgeable, engaging, patient, and friendly. She explained things in an easy to understand way, and adjusted the difficulty of the climbs to accommodate the individuals in the groups. She was encouraging and really made the day memorable. We had a fabulous time. Highly recommend!

My children (18 and 15) on this vacation, absolutely enjoyed their climbing experience with this company. They both had some indoor climbing experience and were excited to try outdoors. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and was a fabulous teacher! My husband and I enjoyed watching and photographing our children. Thank for this unforgettable experience!

Luis was an excellent guide. We had so much fun rock climbing. Our safety was his priority. We were alone with him, that made the experience more private and customizable. The spot was beautiful, near the Athabasca river.

I signed up for this with my 8yr old son last minute. A 4hr total excursion time from Jasper to the climbing area at Morro Slabs a short distance away made for a good morning out. Luis, our climbing guide, was friendly, engaging and informative and expertly taught new climbers the basics of abseiling, belaying and climbing, whilst also accommodating climbers in the group with a little more experience. The group of 6 that we were in all obviously had a great time. I would have no hesitation in going again or in signing up for the rock climbing fundamentals courses in future.

We did a family outing (3 climbers and a spectator) on Aug. 6 with Luis as our guide for the half day Rock Climbing Experience at Morro Slabs. There was one other "new friend" for a total of 4 climbers of various experience levels. Luis was friendly, thorough, professional, and safe, and once he determined everyone's level of experience and did the safety briefing, got us climbing as quickly as possible, there was no wasted time at all. We had all the climbing we wanted, and he set up different routes of varying difficulties. This trip is suitable for beginners and up. I highly recommend Rockaboo and Luis.

Got to do a Climbing Trip to the Morro Slab with Luis. He provided a nice blend of professionalism and personalization to the trip. We got to climb a lot of great routes next to a beautiful river. Thanks to Luis's organization, everybody in the party got to climb a lot of routes of varying difficulty. A great trip.

I took the rock climbing fundamentals course 1 and 2. I found the instruction to be excellent. It gave me the confidence to build anchors and lead climb multi-pitch routes. The ACMG instructor was chill and cool, exactly what you need to feel safe climbing as a novice. Also, open to answering any questions and making sure you get a great experience safely.
