The trip covered all of the city historical spots (ex the major temples). As it was the end of my short trip I was keen to see the Royal palace and the Water palace in particular (without meandering around). Sarj my driver/guide was insightful and understood that I did not want to linger in any place. He tailored the day yo suit me. He was very accommodating.

We had a great city tour with Mr Wardo. We very much appreciated the flexibility of the tour as it started to rain in the afternoon so we adapted the tour and visited a Luwan coffee factory instead of doing the sunset temple part. We both enjoyed the city of Yogyakarta - definitely worth a visit and a day tour.

Solid tour, really enjoyed visiting Ijo which along with the museum were the highlights. Only real crowds were at the water castle.

Our one-day tour of Yogyakarta perfectly showcased the city’s rich cultural heritage. Starting at the magnificent Yogyakarta Palace, we explored centuries of Javanese royal history through stunning architecture and fascinating collections. The Museum Sonobudoyo was an unexpected highlight, housing impressive traditional artifacts that beautifully contextualized the region’s artistic legacy. The afternoon brought us to the enchanting Water Castle (Tamansari), where the Sultan’s former recreational complex sparked our imagination with tales of royal leisure. Our final stop at Ijo Temple was particularly memorable - climbing to this hilltop sanctuary during golden hour offered breathtaking panoramic views of Yogyakarta spread below, providing the perfect contemplative end to our cultural journey. Throughout the experience, our guide Mr. Sarj proved invaluable with his extensive knowledge and genuine passion for the city’s heritage. His engaging storytelling brought each location to life, weaving historical facts with local legends while ensuring we had the best photo opportunities and local recommendations. This tour strikes the ideal balance between education and enjoyment, making it essential for understanding Yogyakarta’s heart and soul in just one day.

We had an incredible experience visiting Kraton Palace, Sono B. Museum, Tamansari Castle, and Ijo Temple. Our guide was practically a historian—his deep knowledge and passion for history made the tour fascinating. He explained the rich heritage of the Sultan’s Palace in great detail, helping us understand Javanese culture and traditions. Tamansari Castle’s unique architecture and history were truly impressive, and Ijo Temple offered breathtaking views. His fluent English made everything easy to follow. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn and explore Yogyakarta’s historical treasures. A must-do experience!
