Explore the main streets and landmarks of Sligo town on a walking tour personally led by local historian and guide Mel Ní Mhaolanfaidh of Sligo Walking Tours.
This tour combines social history, local history, Irish history and macabre tales to tell the story of Sligo and the people who lived here.
Discover Sligo's connections to Bram Stoker, the Irish author best known for his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula, and hear how stories of the cholera epidemic may have influenced his writing.
Visit the thirteenth-century ruins of Sligo Abbey and learn about the events and history that inspired the poetry of W.B. Yeats.
Along the way, hear stories of crime and punishment, local scandals, executions, prison escapes and tragic events that reveal the darker side of nineteenth-century Sligo.

It's a rain or shine experience! The guide had umbrellas for us and we had our rain gear on. Be prepared for uneven footing on the cobblestone. You will learn so much about Sligo’s history and Ireland itself. Our guide was amazing! We were all shivering at the end. Was it just the rain or all the dark tales! 👻☘️☔️
