Edinburgh is a city where well-known landmarks and quieter corners exist side by side, often just a few streets apart. Experiencing both is what gives a fuller sense of the city.
This experience is designed to balance those elements. Depending on your interests and the time you choose, your host will shape a route that brings together key sights with places that feel more local and less expected.
Your host offers perspective that goes beyond surface-level highlights, helping you understand how different parts of the city relate to one another. The experience builds naturally as you move, allowing space to focus on what captures your attention.
Before your experience begins, you will complete a short questionnaire so your host can understand your preferences. They will then reach out directly to plan your time together, creating a flexible and personalized experience that reflects both you and the city.

Edinburgh
Edinburgh is a city best understood through its contrasts, where historic landmarks, hidden corners, and open landscapes exist within close reach of one another. With a local host, you move through the city in a way that reflects its rhythm and variety. Before your experience, you will complete a short questionnaire so your host can design a route shaped around your interests, pace, and chosen duration. Scott Monument
In the heart of the city, the Scott Monument rises sharply above Princes Street, its dark Gothic spire drawing the eye upward. Around it, gardens, viewpoints, and busy streets come together, showing how Edinburgh balances grandeur with everyday movement.

II will always take a private tour when I travel and spending a few hours with Lilia discovering Edinburgh was amazing. She picked me up on time which was great and a few weeks beforehand maybe even a month she asked me what I wanted to do and she sent me an itinerary of what we would be doing which I thought was very personal and nice of her. The day was spent exploding as well as a few hidden gems . Her knowledge and love for Edinburgh showed. I will choose her over and over again. She ‘s very sweet and funny . We chatted like old friends.. The day after the tour with her, I was able to maneuver my way around Edinburgh, so easily .

Edgar was a great guide. I appreciated how detailed he was on focusing on my personal interests. The length of the visit was exactly what I needed. This was perfect as a solo traveler, this experience was tailored to my interests and my pace. There were no added admissions fees for my tour specifically, which was around seeing the architecture and learning about the history of Edinburgh. I highly recommend booking this tour to allow you to learn a lot around Edinburgh and focus on your personal interests.

We easily met Gee in Waverley Station, our meeting point. After a short introduction we started an interesting walking tour that he adapted to our interests and wishes. He is a great storyteller and showed us lot of hidden gems and remarkable details in and on the Edinburgh streets. We had a nice lunch in The Last Drop. We concluded our tour, that covered all the main places of interest, with a good beer in a beautiful pub. He made our visit to Edinburgh one of the highlights on our cruise.

Our tour with MIchael was Awesome.... one of the best on our UK trip!! His knowledge of history and the way he presents it make this experience very enlightening and enjoyable. He kept the pace I requested which meant it was not strenuous. He exceeded our expectations ... showing us many wonderful "off the beaten" track sights that we would never have known about. We HIGHLY recommend this tour and Michael!!

This was an exceptional experience. Edinburgh is a fascinating city with a dramatic history. Gains is a superb guide with an amazing grasp of the historic and “hidden gems” of the city. He has a PhD understanding coupled with a pleasant and friendly manner. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Absolutely loved Edinburgh. All of our guides were marvelous. Such a warm, inviting city even in Winter! We had the pleasure of a guided walking tour around Edinburgh that gave us a fantastic overview of the city. We will be coming back soon!

Michael did an amazing job taking us off the "beaten path" when touring Edinburgh. We appreciated how Michael tailored the tour to our needs. He was very communicative in advance to find out what we wanted to do and he followed up with us after our tour on somethings we had questions about. Michael is an Edinburgh native and knows his stuff! We would highly recommend requesting him!

Gee was great! He crafted the tour to what we had specifically wanted. The pace. The opportunity to learn about whiskey. He had good stories. Helped us learn about some Scottish history. And he was just a delight to spend the afternoon with.
