What To Expect
Southeast Exposure Outdoor Adventure Center
Your adventure starts with a van ride to the north end of Ketchikan to beautiful Clover Pass. You will be welcomed and led down to our waterfront facility and introduced to your tandem kayak and get a safety briefing from your guide.
Tongass National Forest
You'll quickly gain confidence as you paddle to Eagle Island. The protected waters of Clover Pass provide us with the opportunity to really enjoy the tranquil setting of the Tongass National Forest.

Beautiful Guided Kayak Trip at Eagle Island

5.00We visited on a beautiful sunny day and had a great tour with Greyson. He was prompt to pick us up at our location in Ketchikan and happily dropped us back off at Ward Cove where our ship was docked. On this guided kayak tour, he went at a pace that was fun for everyone. We enjoyed seeing countless eagles, several sea stars, and a sea lion. He was knowledgeable about the area and had a good balance of a guided plan while also allowing us to set the pace. He quickly saw we were interested in wildlife and tried his very best to make sure we saw as much wildlife as possible. I would highly recommend this kayak trip. It was a highlight of our trip!

5.00Grayson and Bre were great guides! We had lots of fun. We saw a whale and lots of Eagles. The waters were a little rough but the guides helped us manage.

5.00Our tour guide Jess was very professional and knowledgeable about the wild life and how to operate a canoe for the first time. I even learned why the starfish are different colors, purple, orange in color and some slightly reddish. While here, we saw couple Orca whales and sea lions. I also highly recommend canoeing while visiting Ketchikan Alaska. Southeast Exposure has plenty of clean canoes and very knowledgeable staff to help answer any questions.

5.00This kayaking trip was one for the books! Our guides, Bre and Rose, were phenomenal! They created an extremely welcoming atmosphere! As someone who has kayaked multiple times before, they explained everything incredibly well - interacting with the little kids and showing everyone (especially the newbies) how to wear the life jacket, how to use the padel, and how to get in/out of the kayak. During the actual yakking part, they pointed out animals like the sea star and moon jellies, as well as eagles, an eagle nest, and a sea lion. Our group consisted of 11 kayakers, two of which were younger kids and we happened to go out on one of the most beautiful days - 68° and sunshine (at the beginning of June too!). Bre and Rose were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, personable, and fantastic guides! I wish we had more time with them and on the water!

5.00What a fantastic kayaking experience!! Sighted a Whale, multiple Bald Eagles, seals, and porpoises!! Our guides (Ben and Jess) were excellent!! Well worth the cost!! Highly recommended!!
