Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam is one of the oldest and most significant Hindu temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is known for its stunning Dravidian-style architecture, vibrant sculptures, and intricate carvings. The temple, believed to be over two centuries old, serves as a spiritual hub for the Tamil Hindu community. It features a towering gopuram adorned with colorful deities, depicting Hindu mythology. Devotees visit to seek blessings, perform rituals, and celebrate major festivals like Maha Shivaratri. The temple also conducts daily poojas, attracting both worshippers and tourists. Located in Colombo’s bustling Pettah area, Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam stands as a symbol of faith, heritage, and devotion amidst the city's urban landscape.
Lotus Tower is a 350 m (1,150 ft) tall tower, located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has been called a symbolic landmark of Sri Lankas's of 2019, the tower is the tallest self-supported structure in South Asia; the second tallest structure in South Asia after the guy-wire-supported INS Kattabomman in India; the 11th tallest tower in Asia and the 19th tallest tower in the world.It was first proposed to be built in the suburb of Peliyagoda but later the Government of Sri Lanka decided to change the location.The lotus-shaped tower is used for communication, observation and other leisure facilities. Construction is estimated to have cost USD 113 million.

My driver, Kumaran, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and passionate about sharing his local knowledge. He made my experience 100 times better than I ever imagined. The itinerary provided the perfect glimpse into the city's rich history and culture in just a few hours. To top it all off, the final stop at a local curry restaurant was the absolute perfect finish. Highly recommended!
Thus tour was the perfect introduction to Colombo. Our guide Mr Kumaran knew the city, was very informative and polite.

5.00I had a great afternoon with Kishor! I almost forgot I was traveling alone because he made the tour so relaxed and enjoyable. We had great conversations, and I learned a lot of interesting things along the way. Not to mention, Colombo was absolutely beautiful. I would 110% recommend this tour!

5.00This was a great overview for Day 1 in Colombo. We thought it would be a good way to keep up awake after landing at 05.30am that morning and it was! Our guide (who's name I have forgotten- I'm blaming the lack of sleep!) was great. Very friendly and full of information about Colombo and Sri Lanka. We saw some fantastic temples, and sights all over the city. He walked us through Pettah fruit and veg market and fish market and we tried a few tasty snacks. At the end we went to a local restaurant and had a really nice chicken kotthu.

Very entertaining, insightful, and affordable and it comes with a friendly guide, Mr. Kumaran, who was probably the best part of the experience for me. He is easy to talk to and has a warm spirit. Colombo has a rich history and a lot of variety and this tour offers an excellent introduction. I highly recommend.

5.00Had a blast touring the city. My guide Kumaran, who noted his gaps in understanding English, more than made up for it with his enthusiasm & attentiveness. Taking this tour right on Wesak holidays meant there was way less traffic during the day, but that also meant some attractions would be closed/crowded for the celebrations. That said, it's an experience on its own. I'd say this is a great half-day tour if you have a couple hours to spare, lunch/dinner & tea tasting included! Booked with Viator via booking.com
