It was great to be on the Charles River, and some of the historic information was interesting for someone who had not been to Boston before. But the River cruise guide was disappointing. She was negative especially about some of the beautiful architecture. Yes, some people don’t like brutalist architecture but saying the Boston Law School building is the second ugliest building in Boston doesn’t help people understand, see the beauty or know that the law school has programs for all. I guess I felt that irony is not so great when talking about a city.

The bus driver was trying hard to be entertaining, but was not very informative about the city. Sit near the front of the bus because the speakers in the back are just too loud. The boat tour was much better. Kenny was informative, responsive, and constrained. I'm glad we went, but half of trip was not desirable.

Very enjoyable land and Charles River Cruise. Hambone was our land tour guide and he did a very entertaining job with some music and dad jokes mixed in. The bartender tour guide on the river cruise also did a very good job while juggling making drinks, cashering and educating us about what we were seeing. Very enjoyable.

Totally fine if Old Town Trolley Tours wants to do a different style tour at night (I actually think it is a smart move to get repeat customers), however the Summer Nights tour is disjointed, boring, and messy. It doesn't really take you to many places and it tries to combine some contemporary anecdotes with historical locations. Just make a different tour! Do a Boston movie tour or a contemporary Boston tour or a lesser known Boston history tour, but don't go halfway like this one was. The River Cruise was nice, but it would be great if it was narrated both directions (and our guide did a phenomenal job with a HANDHELD mic while bartending! Get the guy a headset, please!). For both halves of the tour, I'd suggest giving some serious thought on what to do in the summer heat. The planet is only getting hotter, so electric fans or something to help keep the air moving would make it more enjoyable (especially since we got multiple texts telling us to arrive 30 minutes early and then had to sit on a still, hot box). It is probably better to do this in cooler weather (and I know the tour operators have nothing to do with the weather, but they can control the experience).

Hummer the trolley but to the cruise was very interesting ESPECIALLY the last return trolley ride at sunset with the 100 % gold leaf roof of the New State House and Cambridge Street where all the lamps were lit with gas!! Plus the common park, the bears with illegal shoe stilettos! I REALLY enjoyed Virginia who was a certainly a multi tasker...doing the drinks, snack PLUS telling us all about the tour...she simply was wonderful and I felt the evening one showed the buildings along the river in a gorgeous sunset effect!! Thank you both!!

The tour was very informative. The tour guide for the trolley was phenomenal and funny. Also, the tour guide for the boat was knowledgeable. However, the information definitely overlapped in the history of Boston because you visited or saw the same things, just one on land versus water.

Bailey is so informative in a fun way. History is so interesting. The sunset cruise was so relaxing, best way to end the long day. We had a great time!

The Summer Nights was fantastic. Bailey was our guide and driver. He shared a lot of history throughout the different areas that we traveled through. He was very friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. The crews on the charles river was amazing. The guides on our ride explained several of the buildings and the architecture around them. The sunset views were beautiful! Overall , I would highly recommend this experience to others.
