The Eisbachwelle is the largest, best and most consistent city centre location for river surfing. The waves on the Eisbach river at the entrance to the Englischer Garten (park) attract surfers and onlookers from around the world. The spot is famous throughout the world for being the largest, best and most consistent city center location for river surfing. People have been surfing here for 40 years. The man-made Eisbach river emerges from underground just a few steps away from the Haus der Kunst (art gallery) on Prinzregentenstrasse in the Lehel district. A stone step at the outlet generates a standing wave about half a metre tall. A unique surf culture in the middle of the city provided a challenge and experience you’re unlikely to forget.

Very poor instructions to the meeting place. And the violator people never showed up for the tour, extreme waste of time and money.

It was a really fun experience! You definitely need to know how to swim and be able to surf to be successful on these waves. The guide was fantastic and helps show you the ropes.

Great to watch, something so different so close to the city. Really lovely cafe in the gardens, then stretch the legs wondering around the beautiful garden paths.

Extremely disappointed: Had been looking forward to this experience for months. Booked this tour, even though it was more expensive than the competition because it did not require me to have two people on my party. After it was too late to book with another company, they texted me saying that they wouldn’t do it for just one person on a Friday, so we rescheduled for 0800 on Saturday. Then at 0200 Saturday morning, the company canceled my tour. As a result I did not get a chance to do this experience before having to leave Munich. Book with another company. Save your self the disappointment. Oh, and to add insult to injury, they didn’t refund the cost of the tour.

The person in charge, who introduced himself as Max, postponed the appointment by 1 hour. The reason was that he was with another group. And he didn't seem committed to what was agreed. He presented the condition that I pay an additional 50 euros for not having a minimum group of 2 people. I didn't pay much attention and the person in charge didn't seem to have experience. He left me alone and said he was going to collect his things with the excuse that it was going to start raining and he needed to leave. The experience lasted less than 1 hour. I do not recommend.
