Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

What To Expect
Liquid Alaska Tours
Liquid Alaska Tours pick up guests at the cruise ship docks and their experience starts right there. This is a 4 hour all inclusive tour, including 2 hours paddling around the Mendenhall Lake to see the Mendenhall Glacier and experience the wild of Alaska in the Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States.
Mendenhall Glacier
Guests will get up close and personal with the Mendenhall Glacier as they canoe up to the face of the glacier and experience it from a canoe on Mendenhall Lake.

5.00Booked the Mendenhall canoe tour because of the great reviews on TripAdvisor. It did not disappoint. When we arrived at Juneau, it was rainy and we were not sure if the weather would hinder the trip. Turns out that it was the best kind of weather for this canoe trip. Cortland was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun - even including his dad jokes. Had a great time!

5.00Highlight of our trip to Juneau! Sophie and Tor was amazing tour guides! Took awesome care of us and was very knowledgeable of the area and the glacier. Very communicative and just good fun! We are very out doors people so this tour couldn’t have been any better. The glacier was beautiful!! If you were thinking about booking this tour?!? Just do it!! You won’t be disappointed!! Thanks you Sophie and Tor for giving us a very memorable tour of the glacier and area!!

3.00Overall the tour was good. Our tour guide was both professional, friendly and funny. I always look for fun and exciting outdoor activities for my family and I to do, when we're on vacation, including canoeing and/or rafting. However, I felt for the amount of physical effort we put in to get to the glacier and the time it took to get there, it was disappointing. I guess I was expecting to see beautiful Alaskan scenery along the way to the glacier. We only saw a one large waterfall and when we got to the glacier, it was rather small and not the grand glacier I expected to see. We did not even get that close to it or spend much time there. I feel for the experience, or lack of, it was pretty costly. But if you just want to be outdoors in the fresh cool Alaskan air and get a good workout, go for it.

5.00Every aspect of this Canoeing adventure was awesome, the equipment was well maintained and clean. The sights and views were breathtaking! What made the Canoe trip worthwhile was the tour guide "Tor" ! Tor was freindly, energenic,enthusiastic, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Her commitment to our Safety was refreshing and reassuring. I recommend this Canoe adventure for able bodied adults who can paddle as a team with others in a multi person Canoe.

5.00The tour was well organized from start to finish. The company provided rain gear and boots. We canoed about five miles round trip. We were lucky with a calm day. We were able to paddle close to the glacier. Our guide Sofie was very friendly and responsible. Be prepared to do real work to paddle!

5.00An unforgettable canoe tour on Mendenhall Lake, made even better by Hannah—truly the best guide you could ask for. She was warm, engaging, and genuinely funny, keeping the whole group entertained while sharing fascinating insights about the stunning landscape around us. Paddling across the lake was incredible, and she guided us right up close to the awe-inspiring Mendenhall Glacier and a gorgeous waterfall. The glacier itself was absolutely breathtaking—an experience I won’t forget.
