Palazzo Pubblico e Torre Grossa
The first village you will reach is San Gimignano, with old medieval towers to view and vibrant ceramic shops to peruse. You will also have the chance to savour the best gelato of San Gimignano, on the location where the acclaimed “Tea with Mussolini” was filmed. On your free time another suggestion would be to enter and visit the little history museum of San Gimignano, which hosts the true reproduction of the XIV century tower. In between the two Medieval Villages you will visit a famous wine cellar where the winemaker will introduce you to his products. You will have a guided sampling of the unique Chianti white wine Vernaccia and the Chianti DOCG, paired with delicacies such as bruschettas with and pecorino cheese.
Piazza del Campo
After the wine sampling we will reach Siena, the wonderful medieval village built among hills. Here our expert tour leader will lead you to the center of the city, passing through the narrow medieval streets until we reach one of the most remarkable medieval squares in Europe, the Piazza del Campo, with its shell-shaped formation, characteristic of the ancient theaters. Siena has also one of the most monumental Cathedrals of Italy. During your free time you'll have a chance to visit it.

This is an excellent tour if you don’t have a lot of time in Tuscany. It’s a great way to see 2 of the best Tuscan towns and visit a winery that would be difficult to get to without a car. Luigi was our driver and guide, and he was incredible. He gave us so much good information on history, culture, and even current events. He knew his wine really well too and gave great insight along with the host at the winery. I actually thought the tour was longer when I booked, so I would have liked to have an extra hour in Siena. The time was just a little too short to even do what was recommended because the line was so long for the duomo. The timeframe given was good for San Gim though. I would definitely recommend this tour, but know that it’s a pretty expensive day trip that is only around 8 hours long. I appreciated the small group size though. If you have a car though, you could easily do this on your own.

Great day I small group only 6 of us. The guide was amazing and knowledgeable, and couldn't be more helpful. It was a long day but we'll worth it. The wine tasting was delicious and good sat in the cellar with all the oak barrels full of wine.

It was a great tour experience for us. Tanya was very friendly & accommodating. The winery we went has a very nice dining area & the food was prepared very nicely & good. Tanya gave us enough time to wander around & we never felt pressured about the time & where to go or stay.

Highlight of our trip to Montecatini, was the Siena, San Gimignano & Chianti wine tour through Come & See Italy Travel Agency (Comeandseeitaly.com). Cannot say enough about our guide, Valerie. She provided great itinerary info and communications prior to the tour. She was so engaging and friendly while very knowledgeable of the history of the area, she sprinkled in fun/entertaining tidbits that made the experience even better! It was a full day of exploring, seeing the beautiful countryside, shopping, enjoying the Tuscan wine all while learning about the area. Definitely a favorite experience!!

We did two trips, the San Gimignano, Wine tasting and Siena tour, and the Cinque Terre tour. Luigi was our guide on both occasions. He was very knowledgeable and informative, and delightful company, we couldn’t recommend him enough. Two great experiences.
