Much to see & eat along pier. Arrive early to find parking. Bring sweater, beanie, mitts, etc. to stay warm, you may get wet when in front of boat lower deck. Our 3:30pm departure time was very cold trip, mid-June. We saw Sperm Whale, Blue Whale, Grey Whale, Fin Whale and dolphins that swim right along boat. First 1-1.5 hours nothing, then all of the sudden there were sightings all around boat. Very cool to see with 7 year old son. Complimtary seasick pills for adults & ginger candy for kids given prior to departure. Several passengers sick once boat stopped for viewing. Crew was nice & very informative on Monterrey Bay Marine life. Total trip 3 hours.

This was well ran with friendly staff. They gave you instructions as you waited, check in was quick and everyone was helpful. We were given a lot of great information while going out about the birds and other wild life. And we saw ORCAs! It was an amazing experience and we definitely recommend. They did their best to find whales. Wear layers, take medication to prevent seasickness (if you are unsure, take it) and enjoy!

Was fun and beautiful day, employees all very nice, just for future reminder for those that have kids make sure they ask for a barf bag cause when the parents are all excited for their first time experience we tend to forget about something important so the experience and memory ain't about cleaning up the mess......lol but had fun.

Booked 4 hour Whale Watching Tour from Monterey Whale Watching Center at Fishermans Wharf in Monterey. Took many photos from lower deck. Saw sea lions, Baird’s Cormorants, Sea Otters with babies on their bellies and Brown Pelicans as we left the jetty. Saw 200 common dolphins feeding near beach and circling our boat. Went to 12,000 foot deep canyon in Monterey Bay to see 200 humpback whales who had just arrived from Sea of Cortez and were very busy finding and devouring fish. Captain was very helpful in identifying where to take the best pictures! Saw humpbacks breaching, displaying their dorsal fins, flaking, lunging to surface with open mouths and doing loud and dramatic tail slaps! Sea lions, cormorants, pelicans, dolphins and gulls joined in the feeding frenzy. Enjoyed talking to the naturalists who explained what we were seeing! What an amazing experience!

June 6, 2026, we saw a couple whales. Dolphins on the way back. The reason why I rate this a 2 star is because there wasn’t enough emphasis on sea sickness. I could NOT enjoy this trip from throwing up so much and by the time we even reached the whales 1.5 hours out, I did not care to see anything because I was just suffering. It was so cold too at that point on our way back. Shivering and sick. To be fair, I was probably the sickest on the boat. There was a handful of people I saw throwing up, but probably not like how sick I was. Anyways, take motion sickness medicine before you get on this boat. It’s really not fun when the waves are hefty and you get nauseous easily! I didn’t think I was that person, but just a warning before choosing this activity.

great crew and experience. I wanted to make sure I went with someone that prioritized the safety of the whales above all else and seeing there were marine biologists involved comforted me. I hope to visit again!

I want to start by giving massive credit to the onboard staff and attendants. They worked their hearts out supplying bags, cleaning up, and bringing water and napkins to everyone who was sick. They were incredibly helpful and compassionate during a very difficult situation. However, the company itself does a terrible job of advertising and warning customers about the seriousness of motion sickness. We booked online, and the potential for severe motion sickness was barely mentioned, if at all, in the waiver or during check-in. It wasn't until we overheard them mentioning it to another family that we asked and were advised to buy over-the-counter medicine. Even the pre-boarding talk downplayed the reality of it. We were traveling with our two children (ages 10 and 6). Within 20 minutes of boarding, we hit 6-to-10-foot waves. The constant, violent ups and downs quickly took a toll. Both of our children became severely nauseous and spent the entire trip vomiting. We weren’t alone—at least 10 to 15 other passengers out of the 70–80 on board were in the exact same condition, crowded at the back of the boat trying to cope. My family suffered for four straight hours, completely miserable and just praying for the tour to end. We didn't see any whales or enjoy a single moment of the experience. While many passengers without motion sickness seemed to enjoy themselves, I also want to raise a serious concern about safety. Given the rough wave conditions and how high the boat was tossing, passengers were still allowed to move completely freely along both sides of the deck. With waves that high, it felt genuinely unsafe and like a real risk that someone could lose their footing and go overboard. Advice to others: If you are a family with young children, or if anyone in your group is even slightly prone to motion sickness, please think twice before booking this tour. The company does not properly warn you about how rough the open ocean conditions can be.

It was a good trip and we saw a mom and baby calf breaching and playing. It got a bit rough, so if anyone is prone to seasickness be sure to prepare. The outside bench seating was a bit tight....the crew was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
