This really is a “Tenerife classic” hike which perfectly demonstrates 2 of our different landscapes: volcano and forest. The beginning and the end are on lovely paths and tracks in the aromatic Canarian pine forest with fabulous views appearing through breaks in the tree line. The volcanic section is a traverse around the volcano Montañas Negras, which erupted in 1706 and was the biggest eruption known in terms of emitted lava. Although challenging at times under foot due to picón, the backdrop of Mount Teide and the dramatic north coast makes this all a very enjoyable walk. Almost everyone who has done this walk with me have said it’s a fabulous hike. Distance: about 12km Walk duration: 4 ½ hours (plus transport time approx 50m each way) Gradient: approx. 350m Maximum altitude: 1,250m Difficulty: easy-moderate

Superb lengthy amble on the black volcanic earth and rocks of the 200year old new landcape. Lovely gentle walking through a memorable landscape.

Andy picked us up from our hotel in Las Americas for a Classic Tenerife hike. He asked us about our previous experience and adjusted the route accordingly. Andy led us on a picturesque tour around Chinyero National Park and explained the natural sights we saw along the way. He is very knowledgeable about nature and the area. We enjoyed all the natural beauty around us and saw some great views of Teide. Overall, it was a really enjoyable hike, and we'll surely do more hikes in the future!

We went on a hike in Chinyero (Tenerife). It was really great! Andy showed us everything around, and we had an exceptional time. Without his help, we would have missed the beauty of Chinyero. Greetings from the Czech Republic!

it was our first visit to Tenerife and we wanted to do some walking/hiking. The two hikes we did with Andy did not disappoint. Andy picked us up from our hotel in Playa Las Americas and picked up the other walkers on the way. Andy is very knowledgeable about the walks and the island of Tenerife. He sets a steady pace and it was nice to meet and chat to others in the group. The views are spectacular especially on our second walk the Wow Factor. Shout out to Helen who was supporting guide on Wow Factor walk, she was really helpful and friendly. We are already planning to return next year and will be booking hikes with Andy again.
