We had a fantastic time on our tour. We did the self guided bike tour. Kimo, our guide was really fun and interesting. He shared lots of historical information that made our visit more memorable. The views were spectacular. We got a really fun picture from our guide. Definitely recommend this tour.

Our guide, Kimo was super, knowledgeable & fun. He gave us interesting information about the area. We chose the guided bike tour with Kate & Cory as escorts to bike down the mountain. They kept us safe in an awesome setting. Along the way, they took unique photos of our experiences. The company is top-notch. We would highly recommend!

This was an odd trip. The views are amazing. The summit is beautiful. The bike trip down the mountain seems like it's outlived its novelty and bikers are not supposed to be there. For example, no longer are you able to start at the summit 11,000 ft but at 6,500 ft. Also, our tour operator wanted us to STOP at some random place down the mountain, regroup with everyone (even though we were all very spread out) and put the bikes back in the trailer and drive through an area, to appease a local neighborhood who don't like cyclists coming through. My wife and were first off and we never saw our van and driver the rest of the time down. We couldn't remember where to stop because our guide talked for an hour all the way to the top and we were never given a reminder before we set off. When we finished at the bike shop the driver still wasn't there and when he shows up, he has the nerve to say, "where were you!" Another couple who finished to right after us asked us privately, "did he scold you too?" Ridiculous. Also, my wife fell and injured herself on the trip - not the tour operator's fault, but we were helped more by the bike technician with first aid when we returned than our guide who said, "you're gonna need to stay around awhile to fill out an accident report. I’d recommend driving to the summit instead and hiking around, enjoying all the scenic overlooks on the way up and down.

The guide is a veteran uncle (excuse me)! He was a fun person who felt a love of cycling. In the van, we took turns introducing ourselves. We were the only Japanese couple, English of course - we broke down desperately, but we were nervous, but having fun won out. The Haleakala summit was amazing. Finally, downhill. At first, I was scared by the speed, but it was fast. I also enjoyed exploring the local town. I can recommend it.

We were told to be at Bike Maui at 9:30am for our tour. We arrived at 9:20 for the front desk woman to say “We have no tours booked today.” I showed her my booking confirmation and she said that our tour had been cancelled because they “had not met their minimum requirement” for people attending the tour. She told me that she called twice, left two voicemails, and sent a text but yet I received no communication at all. I did not get a cancellation email until 9:24am - 6 minutes before our tour was to begin. They obviously did not try to contact me at all. I highly doubt that not one text, call, or voicemail came through. They could have cancelled the tour and sent me the email but yet they didn’t cancel until 6 minutes before the tour. I was then informed that it would take up to 3 business days to get my refund. Not once did the woman apologize or try to explain anything. We wasted 4+ hours driving there and back to our hotel. Very disappointed and would not recommend to anyone.

We ended up changing to the guided tour, and we’re glad we did. If you have never done this, I recommend biking with a guide. The guide was able to help us safely navigate the roads and we had a great time!

The guided tour is much better. If you booked a self guided my recommendation is to switch to a guided bike tour

Fantastic ride. Absurd conformity with “no ride Kula.” Why in the world would there be a requirement not allowing bicycle riding on a public road? Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Interrupting a ride that with all logic should actually start at the (10,000 feet) top, but starts outside the boundary of the national park is dumb. So starting at 6,500 feet elevation is silly. Stopping the ride at Kula to avoid offending the prima donna residents of Kula is even dumber. I love Maui. But the pretentiousness of residents is overwhelming.

We have a great time! Our guide Russell was organized, fun, informative, and provided us with all the safety and guidance needed. We even had some rain but it did not deter enjoying the ride down!

Was probably the best part of our trip. My daughters were nervous but in the end they both loved it.
