The Ganga Aarti is a significant Hindu ritual held in the evening to honor the holy river Ganges in Rishikesh. The most famous and revered Ganga Aartis take place at Parmarth Niketan Ashram and Shatrughan Ghat on the bank of the Ganges.
This sacred ceremony lasts for about 1.5 hours, beginning with the lighting of a fire, followed by the chanting of mantras. Devotees also use essential oils, incense sticks, and medicinal herbs during the ritual. The Parmarth Niketan Ganga Aarti begins at 5:00 PM, while the Shatrughan Ghat Ganga Aarti starts around 5:30 PM, both offering a divine experience for attendees

Parmarth Niketan Ashram
Parmarth Niketan is a true spiritual haven, lying on the holy banks of Mother Ganga in the lap of the lush Himalayas. It is the largest ashram in Rishikesh, providing its thousands of pilgrims who come from all corners of the Earth with a clean, pure and sacred atmosphere as well as abundant, beautiful gardens. Parmarth Niketan is located in Swargashram, just on the banks of the sacred Ganges River. Parmarth Niketan is open to all, with no discrimination on the basis of race, gender, nationality, religion, caste, or creed.
Gita Bhawan
Gita Bhawan is situated on the banks of the holy river Ganges, amidst the Himalayan mountains at Swargashram, Rishikesh. It consists of a very large complex comprising discourse halls and over 1000 rooms available free of charge for the stay of devotees. Regular discourses are organized. A large number of devotees visit and stay here for holy Ganges dip, listening to discourses and sadhana & meditation. During the summer months (end -of April to early July), day-long special Satsang programs are arranged and devotees flock in thousands to attend it.

First, you have to know it is free of charge. You do not have to pay for it. Sacrifices that you can make are rather symbolic and can be avoided as such. It is an impressive show for the tourist, who is not really into Hinduism, but local people are really appreciating tourists and are friendly to include into rituals...
