What To Expect
Palm Springs Visitor Center
Our tour begins in the parking lot of the Palm Springs Visitor Center at 2901 N Palm Canyon Drive. If you’re not there already, you should head there now. Before we get started, there’s something important you should know about this tour: Palm Springs is bursting with historic celebrity homes, but most of them are hidden behind walls, hedges, or fences. Note: The tour is over 22 miles long, with more than 53 audio stories, and takes about 2-3 hours to complete. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.
In just a moment, we’ll have the option to take a detour to see the Kaufmann and Liberace Houses, two of Palm Springs’ most famous homes. The detour takes about five minutes, and I’d recommend it if you’re not in a rush. To visit the houses, turn right onto West Vista Chino ahead. Otherwise, continue straight to skip the detour. ⚠️ NOTE: Star Homes may be obscured or partially hidden by gates, shrubs, or private roads. Please do not violate anyone’s privacy during your tour.

5.00It took our family about an hour and a half to view the main route. There are alternate routes, should you wish to explore more. The narrated tour is clear, fun to hear, and pretty simple to initiate. Just don’t forget to download the tour before driving to the “meet” location.

You can totally go at your own speed and go back to the tour if you want. Great value! Easy to follow and use. I am sure we will purchase other tours in the future. Highly recommend!!!

4.00App and tour functioned as expected. Route instructions were timely and easy to follow. If you don’t know who the rat pack and movie stars of that era, you may not enjoy the tour that much. It’s hard to really see most of the houses but the stories are interesting if you know the bye-gone celebs. We had fun listening to them and would have liked a little more history about Palm Springs in general and maybe some current attraction sights and stops.

4.00Easy to follow along! Our host had a very clear, personable speaking voice. Very specific instructions allowed for us to really enjoy! Only downside was audio abruptly stopped mid way thru Bette Davis stop (think #34) and we couldn’t get it fired back up. Maybe tour was supposed to end. It was over for us for sure? All in all, good experience.

5.00Wonderful idea of a an app driven self driven tour. App works pretty well and starts narration as soon as you are the attraction. The only thing I would say is there should be an option to create a custom itinerary or a non celebrity homes itinerary. Some of the main attractions that define palm springs such as the Marilyn Monroe statue were on the ALT points of interest instead of the main one. But overall we found the tour very satisfying for the price point and the comfort of doing the tour in our own car while the temp was above 90F outside ocassionaly stopping at point of our choosing very relaxing.
