Trolltunga Via Ferrata with the Himmelstigen Sky Ladder, the most extraordinary way to immerse yourself in the breathtaking Norwegian mountains and the iconic Trolltunga rock formation. The adventure begins with a scenic 4 km stroll along beautiful Ringedalen Lake on a gravel road. Prepare for the challenge ahead as we tackle the first steep kilometer of the traditional trail, leading us to the Via Ferrata, an exciting climbing route. After a quick lunch, we’ll go over safety instructions. The Via Ferrata features three walls, with the highest reaching 250 m. This route is manageable for those who can handle the regular Trolltunga trail, resembling a ladder climb (level C). You’ll be securely harnessed throughout the ascent. As you climb, enjoy stunning views of Ringedalsvatnet and the majestic Folgefonna Glacier. Midway, take on the optional Sky Ladder, Himmelstigen—a thrilling 50 m climb that adds excitement and fantastic photo opportunities! From the top of the climb, we have the final 3 km hike to Troll's Tongue. As you arrive, enjoy the awe-inspiring view and capture the perfect “needle picture.” After soaking in the beauty, we’ll hike back along the main trail.

Would absolutely do this experience again! Our guides Jostein and Emily were great! They paced our group of nine very well and gave just the right amount or history and Troll legends to make it interesting. The initial climb up to the via ferrata is fairly difficult, steep and requires boulder scrambling, therefore I would NOT sign up unless you are ready for a challenge before reaching the ferrata. The ferrata and sky ladder is such fun and I felt completely safe on this section. Walking out on Trolltunga is a thrill, but it is not as narrow as one would think and therefore I felt safe. Pack lightly for the day trip. Only one larger water bottle needed as you may refill at the waterfalls without a filter. We packed a sandwich, apples and nuts/ snacks as food is needed for this 10-11 hours day. Wear hiking shoes for the bouldering. Also. Keep your phone SECURE! mine dropped out of my jacket and fell to the cliff ledge below :-( I appreciated that the guide called down to see if it could be found. Every one was so friendly, the views AMAZING! and an overall terrific adventure. I would definitely do this tour again and recommend Trolltunga Active.

We did the Trolltunga via ferrata climb and stayed in the domes at the top overnight. Our guides Štěpán and Rebecca helped to prepare us and make each part of the journey unforgettable. 11/10 recommend this tour and company!
