Minnewater Lake
What does minnewater mean? This is the Dutch name for the lake, which is made up of two Dutch words: minne, which means both "common" and "love", and water, which means "water". Thus, the most correct translation would mean translating the word minne as "common", since these were the "common waters, community waters, everyone's water" since it was where the old port of Bruges was located, a site closely linked to the city and the daily life of its citizens.
The Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde
The beguinage is one of the most representative complexes of Bruges, a prelude to what you will find in this magical city, an environment anchored in the Middle Ages immersed in a sea of tranquility. In addition, it is declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Wear comfortable shoes. There’s lots of walking as it’s a walking tour. It was so informative and a great way to see the city.

Experience overall was brilliant. Guide was amazing and very informed. Made every part interesting. We all had a brilliant time. Only 2 downsides - we were a party of 9 and they split our group between two tours, which was a shame as we all would have preferred to be together and the boat element, the queues were very long but the guy running it signed our tickets so we could use them the next day, which we did. The boat tour was lovely and the guide was brilliant.

We had a fantastic time learning about the history and culture of Bruges. The walking tour was the perfect way to see many of the sights and our guide Blanca was a fun and engaging host. She’s a total gem! The beer tasting and the boat tour were excellent additions to the walking tour and we would recommend the full package for sure!

Fun introduction to Brugges - Oscar was a great tour guide and provided a lovely overview of the history of the city as well as a great tip on what to look for when buying Belgian chocolate! We chose the beer tasting option which was a perfect way to end the tour, especially on the cold, rainy day when we visited the area.

I have always been pleased with Viator tours but the location of the meeting place was confusing (there are several Carefours) in Bruges so we ended up missing the tour. The company actually doing the tour (Viator contracted it to) was rude and blamed it on Viator. This week Viator is changing the time of our Lourve tour messing up schedule. I will not book with them anymore as they are not what they used to be service wise.
