I had a great time on this tour. The guide had good English skills and was very friendly. One of the best aspects of the tour was the way the guide asked if there was anything in particular I wanted to see at the start of our time together and then offered suggestions that were actually fun - as opposed to the kind of guide that just wants to take you to where they feel like going. Ishigaki Island isn't exactly a massive place and the 4-5 hours of this tour gave me a chance to see a few different parts of the island. For my tour we took in a few scenic areas of the coastline and a rather quirky pottery place. And no, there was no pressure to buy either from the guide or the staff. The sculpture park we stopped at was unusual and photographers will probably enjoy the lookouts and coastal views. Kabira Bay is the big ticket item on Ishigaki and it was a pleasant spot. It was also just about the only place on the whole tour where there were plenty of other tourists around. It seems the hordes haven't really discovered this island yet though with international flights arriving direct from overseas surely it won't stay like this forever. Go soon and beat the rush. And if you do take in Kabira Bay on your tour and have the time try the ice cream. Trust me.... The guide helped me out by taking a bunch of photos that they forwarded onto me and they were better than anything I'd take myself so this was great. As a bonus the guide offered me a few pieces of advice around some other worthwhile activities on the island to help me fill up my next couple of days. I'd heartily recommend this tour - especially if you do it on your first day on Ishigaki. It will help you get your bearings.

We took a great private tour with Ishigaki Island Tours with Sander early in June and it was great. Sander was fun, informative and new so much about the island. Our tour included snorkeling and then about 5 other places. Sander is a good photographer and made a video of our day together which was a big bonus. We were staying on the island for 5 days but did not want to rent a car. This was a great way to see a lot of the island. If you are on a cruise and stopping here I would recommend this tour to make sure you see a lot of the island. Van was comfortable and I enjoyed the video he played and talked about the island as we drove. Highly recommend. Thank you Sander for a great day!

A well thought-out, completely customizable tour featuring sweeping lighthouse views, playful monkeys, breathtaking Kabira Bay, and more. Makoto was kind and attentive, with excellent English, and knowledgeable about local history and culture. She made the tour feel like being on an adventure with a friend and even shared photos the next day. If you’re new to Ishigaki and looking for someone to introduce you to all the beauty the island has to offer, book this tour.

We spent an amazing day discovering the island! We really appreciated how the tour was adapted to our family’s needs and considered our personal interests such as stopping at a local bakery and a rum distillery. We strongly recommend this tour, and the photos taken are beautiful!!

We had the best time exploring Ishigaki with Taran—seriously one of the highlights of our trip. From the start, he was super friendly, easy to talk to, and just had a great vibe that made the whole day feel comfortable and fun. He really knows the island and took us to some incredible spots we would’ve never found on our own. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does, and it shows in how he plans everything out. Also… his photography is next level. He captured some of the best photos from our entire trip—like actually insane quality. We didn’t have to worry about anything, he knew all the angles and lighting and just made it effortless. On top of that, he speaks both English and Japanese, so everything was smooth and easy the whole time. Honestly, couldn’t recommend him enough. If you’re visiting Ishigaki and want a fun, stress-free experience with amazing photos at the end, definitely book him or his wife!
