The archaeological park of Agrigento - the largest in the world - spreads over an extensive area. Within its confines rise the magnificent remains of the once powerful Greek colony - walls, necropolises, houses, public buildings, and open sanctuaries. But what attracts millions of visitors every year to this UNESCO World Heritage Site is above all the amazing series of beautiful Doric temples.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The time you select on the order form is your preferred time. The museum or attraction will automatically confirm the closest available time, which can be ANY TIME during opening hours on the selected date, if your preferred time is no longer available.

Valle dei Templi

This is your entrance ticket to the Valley of the Temples and the main focus of your attention will be the series of seven monumental temples in Doric style. They were constructed during the time when Akragas was one of the most powerful cities of Magna Graecia (the "Greater Greece" colonies), during the 6th and 5th centuries BC. The temples of ancient Akragas are some of the best-preserved ancient Greek temples outside of Greece and are inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997!!! Please note that only full ticket is available online and that reserved tickets must be picked up showing the confirmation voucher (sent by the provider) at the bookshop located at the rest stop on Piazzale Hardcastle.

  • A must-see,

The site is magnificent and truly worth the detour. However, upon arriving at the entrance, things get complicated! Having booked the entrance in advance, as advised by Tripadvisor, which turned out to be unnecessary, I purchased 6 tickets at €25 (on-site €15). I presented the document I received in my email, which was not valid!!! At the ticket counter, the young man called Tripadvisor to explain the situation. Three-quarters of an hour on the phone! Before finally managing to obtain an email confirming my reservation and payment

Spectacular, it takes you to another place; you should go very comfortably and with enough time to explore and read.

It remains - even after 40 years - impressive. This year the park was a bit bigger again, supplemented by a walk through a garden (payable!). Take your time. From the garden you can still find the temple of Vulcan by rail. For parking and labels and crowds: go as early as possible: it will be crowded. And the police write down when you park on the road.

  • Don’t get ripped off!

Would give ZERO stars if possible!!! Just arrive at the entrance and buy an entry ticket for 14 Euro and then there’s a QR code to download audio guide. We were completely ripped off by Viator and its provider! Charged 54 Euro for entrance ONLY! Then cancelled our tour the afternoon before stating site was closed!!! I was not aware at the time that that was not the case! It’s open every day, even Xmas & Good Friday! In fact on Tuesday 10th March it was FREE entry as advised by our hotel! So we went on Tuesday as originally planned for free! Even the gorgeous girls at the ticket office couldn’t believe a: what we were told and b: what we were charged!!!! So didn’t use the tickets today at 1130 which would have delayed our travel to next stop by 3 hours!!! Emailed with all the info that I found out and was given a big “eff off” basically! Have now contacted my financial institution for help. Have since cancelled the Mt Etna tour I had booked! Won’t use Viator again! The valley of the temples is definitely worth the visit, just beware of cost!!!

  • Venue impressive. Lot of walking

We paid in advance to save time. At the venue it meant absolutely nothing. Had to join the line and after much back and forth something was found. Why give you a margin when it does not help. Not clear that these are tickets only

  • Great experience, except for the pricing ripoff.

The site contains many Greek temples that were well preserved and very interesting. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and a hat, and use plenty of sunscreen. Take a water bottle as there are taps you can use to refill them. Toilets are clean and conveniently sited. Having said this, I was greatly disappointed by the ticket deal with Viator. I paid too much for the tickets - €44 each! The tickets at the gate were only €17 per person, so I felt this was a ripoff. Also, food and drink near the site are expensive.

  • Well worth the visit if you are into Greek art, culture and architecture.

Well worth a visit. The site has several beautiful and interesting Greek temples in various states of preservation. Buy a bus ticket from a tobacconist for 1.4 euro and catch the No 1 bus from the train station to avoid pricey taxi fares. You can catch any bus back up to the station. There are quite a lot of tour groups, so go early in the morning, when it is also cooler. Make sure that you bring water, a hat and sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes. There are taps to refill water bottles and plenty of public toilets. Be careful and watch where you step, as we witnessed someone turn their ankle and fall over on the uneven and rocky ground. I recommend that you do NOT buy tickets in advance online via Viator. We paid 44 euro each when the gate price was only 17 euro. The museum is also very good but it is about 25 minutes walk up the hill. You can get a taxi from the archeological site to the museum for 3 euro per person. The bus stop to return to the train station is across the road from the museum.

  • Kind and courteous.

I recommend to those who come to visit this wonderful place to book tickets online with a wide choice of walking the route, or by bike, and with a tour guide. The price of admission per adult is € 17.00 and then you add the services you want to opt for.

  • Be careful

A fantastic place but there was no advantage of pre booking as we had to join the general queue and we also paid more than those who paid at the ticket booth. Definitely no advantage of this.
