Not all treasure is made of gold. But some of it is.

This trail wraps the City’s real medieval history in a playful alchemical metaphor. Yes, there really was a Dick Whittington! You’ll find him in all seven stages of alchemy and, in the process, discover the City’s ancient heart still beating behind all that steel and glass.

You’ll start at Tower Hill and pass through places most Londoners have never noticed: secret gardens, lost guilds, ancient hallways and royal residences.

It’s part treasure hunt, part fever dream, and entirely grounded in the City’s medieval streets.

You won’t need a guide — the trail is embedded in the stone and shadow.

Fully playable in 11 languages (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic) — no guide required.

Can’t believe I am the first to review this. Have always wondered why and how the City of London got so powerful. Now I know. And so good to be shown its medieval footprint and lots of really interesting ancient alleyways and historical sites I never even knew were there. The story told along the way was amazing too - I never expected the link between the Black Death and the search for the Philosophers’s Stone. Really first rate. Thoroughly recommend if you have a couple of hours to spare and are looking for something off the regular tourist trail.
