Watch the sunset from the top of Arthur's Seat - Edinburgh's highest hill (251 meters). Get outside and enjoy nature on a scenic route to the summit, away from the crowds.
This hike is great for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, natural scenery, photography, or exercise. You'll be able watch the sun go down behind Edinburgh Castle, the Old Town, and the mountains in the background. Enjoy views out to see and towards the Scottish Highlands on the horizon.

What To Expect
Arthur's Seat
Watch the sunset from the summit of Arthur's Seat. We take a scenic route up the hill, away from the crowds, and reach the top in time to watch the sunset. There is plenty of time to stope and take photos before heading back down into the city.

5.00Marcus was very knowledgeable, and it was a truly amazing hike. The trip was well planned and executed, and I felt safe throughout. The route was manageable even for a non-hiker like me. He explained things clearly along the way, gave us plenty of pit stops to catch our breath, and kept the pace comfortable while still making sure we enjoyed the great views. Since there are no signboards along the route, I would definitely recommend going with Marcus.

5.00Great overall experience!! Arthur Seat is open to the public but the trails aren’t really marked, so having Marcus as a guide meant we could relax, happily follow along, and really enjoy the views. He is an excellent host and guide - pointing out plants, animals, and telling stories of the park and the city. Highly highly recommended - even when sunrise or sunset are at extreme times!!! You are only on vacation for a few days - sleep later !!

5.00Hiking up Arthur’s Seat with Mountain Marcus was a memorable part of our trip. Watching the sun diffuse into the gentle clouds over the Edinburgh sky with views in every direction was a sight we will always remember - one that photos cannot do justice to, although I tried. Marcus kept this easy/moderate hike to the peak moving at a comfortable pace and adjusted it based on the group’s hiking skill. He also shared a lot of great info along the way regarding geology, how the area was shaped by glaciers millions of years ago and how it’s currently a great recreation spot for runners and hikers. Marcus’s easygoing approach made this hike a fantastic experience and one we greatly enjoyed. It’s the best way to see Edinburgh from a “bird’s eye” vantage point. I highly recommend doing this if you have the time. Thanks Marcus.
