Venture deep into the lush jungle northeast of Angkor to discover Kbal Spean, widely regarded as Siem Reap’s premier hiking destination. Located roughly 50 km from the city center, this extraordinary site features a spectacularly carved riverbed known as the "River of a Thousand Lingas." As you trek through the scenic forest, you'll uncover ancient Hindu symbols intricately etched into the sandstone riverbeds and boulders, leading to a refreshing waterfall. The local name itself beautifully translates to "bridgehead," referencing the natural rock formations here.
Banteay Srei
Banteay Srei, known as the "Citadel of the Women," Banteay Srei is widely considered to be one of the most intricately carved temples on Earth. Wow what a truly amazing day! Tom was an excellent guide and so incredibly informative. He told us so many stories and history of each place we went. My husband loved learning about the political history of Cambodia as well during our drives. The hike to Kbal Spean was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour as it is off the beaten path from more touristy areas and truly incredible to see Banteay Srei, Kbal Spean, and Beng Melea. I feel these are not glamorized as much but are a must see!

My husband and I did the full day private tour with Mak and had a wonderful experience. Mak is friendly and professional and speaks good English, so we got a lot out of the tour. Additionally, he was super helpful while we were coordinating what we wanted to do and get out of the tour. He also suggested short stops at two other temples along our route. We spent just enough time and got to explore as much or as little as we wanted at each stop. We saw other private guides who didn't offer nearly the same experiences to their clients. Would highly recommend Mak!
