What To Expect

We will start our gourmet tour with a stroll through the pedestrian streets of Bayonne, stopping by and tasting chocolate in one of the oldest chocolate shops in Bayonne (1854). We"ll pass by the cathedral, the cloister etc before immersing ourselves in our gastronomic visit!
Les Halles de Bayonne
Les Halles de Bayonne is the perfect starting point for our food tour, where you'll get to indulge in some of the freshest and most delicious fish/seafood in the region. To complement the mouthwatering flavors of the fish/seafood, we've carefully selected a glass of local wine for you to savor. While you discover these local specialties, you'll be surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the bustling market. It's the perfect introduction to Bayonne's food scene, and we can't wait to share it with you.

If you don't drink alcohol, you can get a soft drink at the 2 first place, then you can have water.
One Espresso from a traditional coffee roaster at the final stop.
At least one glass per stop, could be more depends on how many people. Wine/beer the 2 first stop. Basque Cider (Sagarnoa) at the cider house.
You'll taste a variety of Basque specialties, such as fresh fish/seafood, cured meats, tapas, sheep's milk cheese with quince paste, and Basque cake.

5.00It just so happened that we had our own private tour! Kareem (not sure if I spelled that correctly?) was friendly and knowledgeable about many cultural aspects of the city and showed us places we would never have discovered on our own. We were also interested in hearing stories about his life and interests. On this tour, we went to the chocolate street, so I'm glad we didn't do that on our own or do that beforehand. He provided many suggestions for what to do and eat after the tour.

5.00Karim was a fantastic tour guide! His food tour was the first thing we did when we arrived in Bayonne. Not only did we get to taste local food and drink but he showed us lots of points of interest along the way! We were able to navigate around Bayonne more confidently and enjoyed our time there because of it. He was extremely helpful and has a great personality! I highly recommend Karim’s tour.

5.00Karim is an excellent guide full of knowledge about the city and the food. He is so personable and speaks English very well. He gave us a varied tour of food and drinks and had some wonderful recommendations for places to have dinner. We highly recommend this tour and if you’re lucky you will get Karim! We enjoyed it immensely!

5.00Superb food tour that starts with delicious chocolate makers, then strolls through the charming streets of the old Bayonne with its colorful facades and shutters. Many stops are made for drinking and eating in the city centre’s flagship locations, with an incredible Welcoming of traders, all in small groups of people who share the same passion for good products. We loved it and recommend 2000%! Thanks again Karim everything was perfect!

5.00My wife & I had the best experience ever with a small (6 guest) group Bayonne Food tour yesterday. Our guide was passionate about his town ‘s long history & took us around the best spots punctuated with lots of food (& drink) stops: from chocolate, fish, charcuterie, cheese to typical Basque pastries. The drinks varied from white then red wine to cider to coffee . We now have an understanding & admiration for Basque culture & their sports! Needless to say, no temptation for an evening meal after such a great experience ! Cheers A& J C
