Blenheim Palace
This awe-inspiring stately home, the current private residence of the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, is perhaps best-known as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Admire the stunning details behind the portraits, tapestry and furniture in the lavishly decorated State Rooms, which includes ornate furniture by Boulle, Savonniere carpet and the iconic 'Victories' series of tapestries celebrating the Duke's victory over the French armies of 'The Sun King', Louis XIV, at the Battle of Blenheim. Enjoy a stroll through the beautifully landscaped formal gardens designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and more than 2,000 acres of parkland, or walk in the footsteps of Sir Winston Churchill. Visit his most cherished outdoor places on the grounds of Blenheim Palace, including the spot where he proposed to Clementine Hozier.

The Market Square is the heart of the town and a striking example of its historical importance. Surrounded by elegant stone townhouses, independent shops, antique centres, cosy cafés, and traditional inns, the square has been central to Stow’s life for centuries. Highlights include the ancient market cross, medieval market stocks, & the impressive St Edward’s Hall, which stands at the center of the square.

5.00I've been wanting to visit Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds. This excursion encompassed both. Only wish I had more time at Stow on the Wold. Our guide, Sheila was excellent and gave us a lot of background on the areas.

5.00Did the tour with Angela and Christian. This tour is planned perfectly and there was never any rush. Angela is a walking encyclopaedia on English history. It was fascinating listening to her talk about the history of England. Cotswolds is indeed such a beautiful place in the English countryside. Christian was an excellent driver who was always punctual. The tour bus was very clean with business like class seats that reclined, with a footrest and charging ports. Would highly recommended anyone looking to book a day out in the countryside.
