Our Home is located on top of the hill above Sarajevo. That position gives us one of the best views of Sarajevo. We offer cooking lessons at our home because we believe that the only way for our guests to experience local way of living is to visit our home, our garden , make the food we eat almost every day and enjoy in one of the best wines from Herzegovina – you can’t go more local than that.
The only condition we have is to bring positive energy and a STRONG will to eat whatever you made at the end of cooking lessons. On the other hand we can promise you a lot of fun and laugh!

What To Expect
All well known Bosnian dishes are covered with this learning course. Not only that but Herzegovina quality wine will be served which makes this gastro experience complete. Wine is really important for this learning course since to stretch a dough for Burek you need to be relaxed and brave which you can be only after a couple of glasses of wine! Soon as you arrive, you'll be served with welcome drink, coffee or tea and you will get a chance to meet us and enjoy in the best panoramic view on Sarajevo. Our lessons are made of two parts: I Part: 1.Onions filled with minced meat, rice and spices (Sogan dolma); 2. Mangel/spinach leaves rolled and filled with minced meat, rice and spices (Japrak); 3. Paprika filled with minced meat, rice and spices (Dolma); II Part: 1. Burek-phyllo dough rolled with potatoes/meat/cheese depending on season Vegan and vegetarian options available apon request. After we finish, you will enjoy in food that we made together and have plenty of time asking us questions about anything that you would like to know :)

5.00Mersiha welcomes you into her home very warmly. Average bosnian hospitality 😄 I didn't see the time fly at all. The way of how to do the filo dough have always been mysterious to me, now that's clear crystal. And after the cooking and eating, we had very nice discussions. (Burek s krumpirom 😝). If you're travelling to Sarajevo, at some point, you MUST do this. Hvala puno Mersiha! Vidimo se !

5.00Run, don’t walk to this amazing experience in Sarajevo. Mersiha welcomes you with open arms and guides you through making traditional Bosnian dishes. Even as the only person, she made me feel welcome and part of the family. This was one of my favorite experiences here. The conversation was amazing, the food delectable and the wine, a finishing touch.

5.00Let's be clear. If you are in any way interested in Bosnian food and located in Sarajevo you would be doing yourself a massive disservice by not joining Mersiha for a class. She teaches about a 20 minute walk (or a shorter taxi) up the hillside from the old heart of the city. We had a small class, but the energy was delightful the entire time. We made dolmas and burek and Mersiha was very clear with all of us involved with each step, and by the end the food was delicious! The price is more than reasonable for the three or so hours plus the meal. It's fun and delicious and anybody looking for great Bosnian food should do this!
The best highlight of our time travelling. This was a fantastic experience. Welcoming, informative, fun and relaxed!!

5.00Wow! This was fantastic. We love taking cooking classes when we travel, but this one was extra special. Merisha is very kind and welcomed us to her home. We made dolma and burek. I am gluten free (coeliac) and despite this I booked this class as I enjoy cooking. I didn’t feel like I missed out by not being able to eat the burek. It was so fun, I could eat the dolma and still enjoyed learning and making the pastry. Merisha let me know about alternatives I can use back home and made some accommodations for me too. This was an absolute highlight of our time travelling around the Balkans. Thank you!!
