Discover the real face of Okinawa by bicycle.
On this guided cycling tour, you will explore the everyday streets of Naha and Shuri, where local life, Ryukyu history, and Okinawan culture quietly remain. Instead of only visiting the usual tourist spots, our local guide will take you through small backstreets, nostalgic neighborhoods, traditional areas, and hidden viewpoints that are often missed by regular visitors.

Tsuboya Yachimun Dori
“Yachimun” means pottery in the Okinawan language. About 300 years ago, during the Ryukyu Kingdom era, pottery kilns from different areas were gathered in this district. Since then, Tsuboya has continued to be known as Naha’s traditional pottery area. By bicycle, we will also ride through narrow nostalgic streets that are difficult to explore by car or on a regular sightseeing route.

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! We met at the cycle shop and were given the choice of bikes from a relatively extensive range of almost new bikes. The bikes we chose were checked - not that they needed to - as I said they were almost all new. We were then given our helmets which were all equipped with radio sets so that we could communicate with the guide and other members in the group. In our group there were only three of us in total which was brilliant. We were worried it might get cancelled if there weren’t enough people, but even with just three they went ahead. Our guide Luis was excellent. He was a genuinely nice, friendly guy, who made us feel very comfortable from the outset. Once the tour started, he regularly checked on us to make sure we were ok. You could see our safety was of paramount importance, and he made sure we were crystal clear when we needed turn, slow down and stop. He also advised when we should use the electric assistance and when we should use the brakes for the sharp declines. He explained everything very clearly and clearly had done his research about the places he was showing us. I would have no reservations recommending this tour and Luis!!! It is a lovely way to see Naha, get some great views and learn a lot about Okinawa

Luis was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgable, and always made sure we were safe. The whole group (cozy group of 4) got to know a bit about each other, and it was fun to socialize with them about Okinawan culture and cultural differences. I was lowkey a noob at riding the bike, but it was fun!!

We had our tour on 3 June 2026. Aki is a very knowledgeable guide. He brought us to some hidden jam. Was a good 20km tour. The trip Up the hill is most memorable and we were rewarded with a fantastic view up the top of the hill. A very worth it tour. Definitely one of the highlights of our Okinawa tour.

We had a great time with Aki on our afternoon bike tour. He was very personable and was very informative about the Okinawan sites and culture. He was also well prepared with a first aid kit for my minor fall when walking. Nothing serious, but I am as glad he as ready to help!
