A tour to magnificent lake Orta from Stresa, Baveno or Verbania on lake Maggiore! An English-speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel and will drive you to the beautiful village of Orta San Giulio on lake Orta that you will be able to explore on your own, strolling through its narrow cobblestone alleys, century-old buildings and special atmosphere. A stop at the Unesco heritage site - the Sacro Monte, Sacred Mount - built on top of a promontory is included with your driver waiting for you while you are strolling around. You can then enjoy a snack / lunch in one of the little town's cafés and restaurants, before being pick up by your driver to go back by a different route enjoying the southern end of lake Maggiore with a stop to see the big statue of Saint Charles Borromeo from the outside, 35 metres high! A tour at your own pace to discover magica lake Orta!

What To Expect
You will leave Stresa, Baveno or Verbania on lake Maggiore in a private vehicle driven by a professional English-speaking driver. Once in Orta San Giulio the first stop will be the Sacro Monte - the Sacred Mount - of Orta, built on top a hill, where your driver will stop to enable you to stroll around and discover on your own this old Unesco heritage site with painted chapels and terracotta statues dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi. Your driver will be waiting for you while you are visiting and will then drive you to the traffic-free area in the heart of Orta San Giulio where you will be able to spend free time in the lovely medieval village. From the main square you may decide ( optional) to buy a boat ticket for the island of San Giulio. On the small but charming island, you can visit on your own the medieval frescoed church and walk along the only path existing on the island, passing old villas and an Abbey. After your free time, between 2pm and 3 pm, the driver will be able to pick you up in the traffic-free area right in the centre of Orta San Giulio to drive you back to Stresa, Baveno or Verbania. GOOD TO KNOW: pick up in Orta San Giulio for your return trip can be decided by you between 2pm and 3 pm.

5.00Davide made an excursion to lake Orta so easy. He picked me up at my hotel on time. He is an excellent driver and took me to two stops, the Statue of San Carlo Borromeo and Sacre Monte highlighting the best chapels before taking me to Orta. He provided excellent recommendations for lunch as well. It was a perfect day and a wonderful way to visit Lake Orta and Orta San Guilio which is so beautiful

5.00FANTASTIC TOUR! From start to finish we had a wonderful few hours being escorted by Davide and is a pure gentleman and couldn't have done more for us. He was always on time and attentive to each of us (6 ladies) including asking if we wanted to drive a windy route or a more straight root (some of us are a little bit travel sick!). We saw some beautiful sites on our way to our destination of Lake Orta and his knowledge of the history of the places we visited and his english language are superb!! We would HIGHLY RECOMMENT him as a tour guide - you will not be disappointed in your decision. His vehicle was spotless, air conditioning galore and a brilliant driver! He ensured that he kept us all safe and secure on our travels. Thank you and well done Davide - you are such a considerate, kind and superb tour guide and we hope to see you again in the future!

5.00We had a wonderful private tour with Davide, who took us from Stresa at Lake Maggiore to Lake Orta. We stopped at a UNESCO heritage site on the Sacred Mount which was such a special experience. It was outstanding, beautiful, and with a lovely church and many unique 16 th century chapels with amazing statuary and frescoes. Then to Orta, a lovely village on the lake shore with cobble stone streets and a variety of shops and restaurants. Davide was a great driver and really enjoyed the afternoon. I highly recommend this experience.

5.00We hired Davide for two days while staying in Stresa. Davide took my daughter and I to lake Orta and to Lavertezzo Switzerland. As well as being a safe, wonderful driver, he was a pleasure to spend time with. We appreciated all the information he shared with us and would highly recommend him!!

5.00Davide drove my wife and me from Stresa to Lake Orta by way of Mount Mattarone and then, after a number hours on our own, he drove us back again by way of Arona. He was very punctual, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend him for getting around the Lakes.

5.00We chose Davide to take us to Lake orta for the morning, the start was great he arrived at the hotel before the allotted time, on the way he told us all about the area so we did not miss anything, showed us the churches in lake orta which were fantastic, then dropped us off for free time and lunch, which was great we could explore the area slowly, he gave us a pick up time , as it was raining we called him a bit earlier he came straight away and took us via another great site a giant monument of San Carlone which was amazing, (this was not even in the tour) we would recommend Davide for all transport needs new van, very well presented and knowledgeable of the area, great prices as well, bonus all round thanks Davide.

5.00Davide was recommended to us by a winery we’d booked for a wine tasting as transport, however he suggested we might want to ‘make a day of it’ and take a tour as well. I’m glad we did as we not only went to the winery (Podere ai Valloni - which is also highly recommend) Davide took us for some sightseeing on the way there and then a trip to Lake Orta afterwards, again with sightseeing in the way. We had a great day, Davide was super helpful, friendly, very responsive with calls and texts and flexible. Highly recommended!

5.00Traveled alone so after having been transported in timely fashion from the airport by Davide, I knew I could rely on his knowledge and excellent driving skills to provide safe and informative details about the sites visited. I was fortunate to go a clear day which meant I had a great view of the mountains as well.

5.00We had the pleasure of an excursion to Lake Orta with Davide as driver. The weather was very rainy. Davide was kind enough to lengthen the drive a bit to protect us from the rain. The visits were very pleasant despite the bad weather, thanks to our driver. Grazie thousand Davide. È stata una passeggiata molto picevole nonostante il maltempo.
