Our guide Peter was extremely knowledgeable and experienced and is a member of the Friends of the Volcanoes Park, so the money we paid goes to the benefit of the park. He was very interesting, had lots of great stories, and was fun to be around.

Judy took us on a wonderful 4-hour tour of Volcano National Park that was packed with spectacular views, great history and deep knowledge of the parks geology and biology. Really a remarkable and memorable visit, capped with seeing the active volcano at night. We loved it!

While I understood so much of the science Peter opened my eyes to the Hawaiian culture. I was moved! Truly was a spiritual experience for someone who is not religious. The stories shared by Peter were personal and genuine. Thank you so much! Both my mom and I had the best time. We were so lucky to go to the park when we did and have such a knowledgeable guide! Highly recommended!

My husband and I had a great tour with Judy from the Friends of Volcano National Park. We spent over four hours learning about the park, the various eruptions, the types of magma, the lava tubes, and the various native plants. We took amazing photos of active volcanoes and learned some of the history of Hawaii. We loved our tour and we highly recommend it to anyone that wants to understand more about the Park.

We had a wonderful tour with Peter. He was very knowledgeable and made sure we hit the highlights of the park. We leaned about the history or Hawaii the volcano, and about the flora of the park. Highly recommend

We have nothing but high praise for every aspect of our private tour with FHVNP. Our guide was knowledgeable on a range of topics, great at bringing to life the natural history of the volcano and the current issues facing the ecosystem there. She made our logistics seamless and comfortable, took into consideration our physical comfort and capabilities. I appreciated her choices of time allocation so that we got the most of our time together. And she was excellent company! Fun to be with, engaging, perceptive as to our interests, and even gave us some reading suggestions based on our interests that changed the remainder of our visit to the island, as we digested those books (which we loved!). So, thank you to Julie and to FHVNP for an unforgettable experience (gotta thank Pele too, who gifted us with an eruption on the day of our tour). And bonus that our fee went to support the philanthropic organization affiliated with this national park. We are very grateful to have had the ability to experience this extremely special place with their guidance.

We had 10 people, so we had 2 guides each in a separate car. At times, the guides switched cars so everybody experienced both of their wisdom - which was immense. Our experience was awesome and we learned way more then expected about volcanos. We would use "Friends" again in a heartbeat.
