I went on the tour of Kolkate for the light "kali" festival. I enjoyed it so much, we were taken around and given lots of history via tour. We were supplied with water and lots of lovely treats throughout. At the end we all had some food and drink at a roof top bar in kolkata where we hot to enjoy the fireworks display. I would highly recommend this lovely gentlemen, a local with a real passion for his city and history. Thank you,,♡

I’ve done two tours with Soham before, and each one has been a joy his storytelling brings Kolkata alive in ways guidebooks never can. But this one, during Durga Puja, was truly special. Experiencing Pujo in Kolkata for the first time, with my brother beside me, made it unforgettable. Soham’s Durga Puja walk isn’t just about visiting pandals it’s about understanding the stories, craftsmanship, and emotion behind them. We explored beautiful neighbourhoods, watched artisans at work in Kumartuli, and soaked in the colours, music, and energy that make this city come alive. What I love most is Soham’s ability to make you feel part of the festival, not just a visitor. If you’re in Kolkata during Pujo, don’t miss this. It’s the kind of experience that stays with you long after the lights go out.

On 27th September, my sister and I, alongside two of our friends from the UK, joined Soham from Calcutta Capsule on his uniquely curated Durga Puja walking tour. Soham was exceptional. From the minute we booked, to the administration of the booking, to providing clear joining instructions, to helpful tips, he was both professional and extremely responsive. The Durga Puja itself was magical and a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to experience. Soham took us "Pandal Hopping". We visited 5 different Pandals including a private celebration at a Zameendaar's house. Each Pandal showcased beautiful art installations and great creativity. Loved it! The vibe of Durga Puja celebrations was fantastic and I am in awe of how Soham kept the group together amongst the tens of thousands of people attending the event. With one of his colleagues (who acted as the back marker), he ensured that we were safe and moved as a group even when we travelled on tuk tuks between Pandals. What fun! Soham superceded expectations and I really enjoyed the authenticity of the tour, delivered by a person whose passion for Kolkata, his home town and the Puja shone throughout. There were some very thoughtful touches and surprises...one being the Rasogullo! Thank you once again. Kerp up the fantastic work and we hope to join you again!

This was a fantastic experience of walking around the heart of the city from one Durga puja to another just like a local. At every stop Soham had planned unique surprises for the participants. I was blown away by how many surprises there were and the care with which he had planned them. The trip was not only an immersive experience of the festival - seeing durga puja like a local-but he managed to include a number of unique Calcutta experiences, art, mythology, history, religion, and stories. This is a must do trip if you want to be part of the unique Durga puja vibes of Kolkata.

With just a layover in Kolkata, we were super thankful to Soham for the Durga Puja tours which are the perfect way to navigate the streets and learn about the rich cultural significance of the festival and pandals, but also to experience the people, some food and craftsmanship. Soham has incredible story telling and takes care of you throughout the tour. He even accommodated for my vegan dietary requirements! If there is one thing you do in Kolkata, let it be one of Calcutta Capsule's tours.

It was one of the most beautiful experiences I had in Kolkata. Soham was ontime, extremely helpful and full of stories about Kolkata, history, the pandals. We could drink, eat and relax plenty of times. And mainly have not only the pandal hopping but a small visit of the craftsmen, the “behind of the scene”. Whenever I come back to Kolkata I will come back to the other walking tours of Capsule Calcutta

This was an excellent tour during which the tour guide explained what would otherwise be a mysterious celebration. I would definitely recommend taking this tour to make the most of visiting during this festival!

This was such a fantastic tour in Kolkata to get to see the festive but also spiritual side of the city during the holy festivals of Diwali and Kali Puja. Soham our guide was AMAZING! He made sure this tour had a bit of everything: fun, religious, food, laughs, serious. He took us to all different places and you can really tell he did a lot of effort to make this afternoon/evening memorable for us all. What I found really incredible is his way with people, despite our group having 12 people everyone was taken care of, all questions were answered and everyone felt included. It was such a lovely experience and I can highly recommend going on a tour with Soham. Whether it be this one or one of his others!
