Pointe du Hoc
Experience the breathtaking beauty and deep historical importance of Pointe du Hoc, a critical World War II D-Day landing site. Situated between Utah and Omaha Beaches, its steep cliffs offer stunning views and a glimpse into a crucial historical episode. Pointe du Hoc, once a German defense stronghold, was central to a remarkable mission. On June 6, 1944, U.S. Army Rangers heroically scaled these 100-foot cliffs, facing intense enemy fire to neutralize artillery threatening Allied forces. Their bravery and tactical brilliance were crucial to the Normandy invasion's success. Presently, Pointe du Hoc is a solemn homage to their courage, its terrain scarred by bomb craters and ruined bunkers. A moving monument commemorates the Rangers' unyielding spirit.

Traveling with family, including teenagers, can be challenging, but this tour worked well for all of us. The explanations were clear and accessible. Some parts were emotionally intense, but they sparked meaningful discussions afterward.

The guide handled sensitive historical topics with care and professionalism. Nothing felt exaggerated or overly dramatized. The focus remained on factual storytelling and real locations, which made it more impactful.

We had an unexpected stop in Le Havre. Wanted to see D-Day sites. No bus tours available. Booked this private tour for $1632. A bus spot opened up for $700 but we kept private tour to get a guide to give us a more in depth historical view than a bus guide would give. That did not happen. We were promised a comfortable car with an expert English speaking guide. We had a basic car and were cramped in the back seat. The driver clearly did not know where he was going. The guide read history to us from his tablet. He was from a country that had no history with WWII or France. He has only lived in France a few years. He was nice enough but he had no passion or expertise. We went to the same 3 sites the bus tour goes. He gave us 40 minutes at the American cemetery. That would cut our tour short 2 hours of posted time. We insisted on staying longer and were still shorted an hour of paid tour time. Loved the D Day sites and the significance to so many men and countries. But very disappointed in tour company.

This Normandy D-Day experience isn't your typical fun vacation, obviously. It's a serious and important journey into history and remembrance. But doing it with friends made it a truly meaningful and shared experience.

Visiting Normandy for the D-Day historical tour was an unforgettable experience. Walking along the beaches and visiting the memorials gave me a deep sense of the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought here. The atmosphere is both somber and inspiring, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in history. I’ve captured some of my favorite moments in pictures, which I’ll be sharing soon. These images are a small way to honor the past and share the beauty and significance of this historic place.

The Normandy countryside, with its picturesque villages and rolling hills, was breathtakingly beautiful. Walking on the beaches of Omahs and Utah, where Allied forcz landed on D-Day, was a humbling reminder of the sacrifice made during WWll, As a history lover I will recommend this tour because they have knowledgeable guides who can give you lots of value.

Wonderful tour. Recommend a private tour for max flexibility and speed if coming from cruise ship in LeHavre. Our guide Zoe was really knowledgeable about the detailed history. The cemetery is humbling and awe inspiring. So glad to see that it is so well maintained. Point de hauc was our favorite with the shell craters, bunkers and gun batteries. Understand they may be closing entry to the bunkers soon from fear of cliff erosion. Would take at least a couple of days to see everything like St Mary Eglise, Utah and the other beaches. But this was a great day tour that gets you the highlights.

This was a bucket list trip for my brother Mart. Wanna was excellent. She was an amazing tour guide who not only was a wealth of information but made sure we reached every location with plenty of time to enjoy. I would strongly recommend her. On a busy holiday weekend we never could have done it without her!

The Normandy cemetery was by far the most impressive. Also seeing Omaha Beach and the monuments there were memorable.
